My 1st and last Kia

I bought this car used with about 32000 miles on it. In two years I put about 50k miles on it and at 1st the car was a pretty reliable runner . I would have consistent problems with the tires getting flats. The FWD version does not do well in the winters. The lights are not bright enough. I have to check to see if they are on at all. The engine went out on me a few days ago and thank God it is covered under warranty. Kia's are good if you dont drive long distances. The quality is poor and it does not hold up well over time. This will be my last Kia. Back to Honda for me.

This is the second Kia Sportage i have purchased

This car is my second Kia Sportage and I absolutely love this vehicle . My last Sportage was 10 years old and had 145,000 problem free miles. So I traded it in for a new one. I loved the car so much I didn't even want to look at another make of car. I always have had the dealership complete my service, so I know the vehicle is getting the best care possible.

Most comfortable Suv with gas safing. Thank Gwinne

Very comfortable Suv and convenient for our uses. Thank Gwinnett Place Ford for having the right vehicle for what we were looking for. Mr Vernon McDonald. Minister TERRENCE.VERWAYNE.

Worst car I have ever purchased, a real lemon

First after purchasing three months in the transmission went on a brand new car. Then it was recalled for the tie rod, now it is making a loud squealing sound. Nothing but trouble from the start!

Regret trading Nissan

I regret trading my reliable Nissan on this particular Sportage. I like most of the options with this Kia but not enough to buy another

Road trip, anyone?!?!

This car has potential and I believe it fits my needs perfectly. From driving to work everyday to needing to see my docs in Denver on the fly. Camping trips with my family or a day trip for the heck of it. I love it!

5 stars

The car is comfortable and has all the options a girl could ask for! The panoramic sunroof is incredible. The feel of the vehicle is reassuring.

Great car so far

Just purchased the Kia Sportage today. So far so good. It is easy to drive and extremely comfortable. Many features inside that makes it feel like a luxury vehicle.

Nimble, roomy, well built, great in snow

I've had the car for three months now and have had the opportunity to drive it in one snow storm where it performed amazingly well. When you lock the AWD the traction is amazing. Other crossovers don't have that feature, or the hill descent feature the Sportage has. I crawled under the car to install a trailer hitch and was impressed by how beefy the suspension and driveline was built. The Sportage seems to lean toward the SUV, rather than car, end of the spectrum. Drives well for an SUV-type vehicle with level cornering and a reasonably smooth ride (for an SUV). Fast acceleration and a small turning radius make it a great choice for city driving. Roomier on the inside than it looks from the outside, and the seats are comfortable, ergonomics good. The 6 speed transmission works well but hesitates to downshift on hills when in eco mode. Forward visibility is very good, side visibility good, rearward visibility only fair. With some cars in this class (Rav-4 for example) its hard to park because you can't see the white lines between spaces, and easy to hit curbs and scratch the wheels. Not a problem with the Sportage. As far as styling, that's a matter of personal taste, but I like that fact that it doesn't look like every other crossover out there. The engine has adequate power, runs smoothly and is well matched to the transmission. I also like the manual override feature on the transmission, handy when towing or climbing long steep hills. Build quality is very good with no noticeable squeaks or rattles (mine was made in Korea). Only negatives would be gas mileage (I get only about 21 MPG in mixed driving- other vehicles in the class do a lot better (CR-V for example). That and the lack of a backup camera in the LX model- given the poor rearward visibility all Sportages should have backup cams. And, the engine is a little noisy when accelerating, with a pronounced clatter from the direct injection.
