Reliability with performance. Best car I ever had.

This car was amazing. It was great going to the beach or to the mountains. It plowed through a foot of new snow in Tahoe while others were stuck. It was incredibly reliable and there was never a dime spent for repairs other than normal maintenance. It had incredible pickup.

Not worth the cost of ownership

Although the GLK350 is a finely engineered automobile, it was not a great deal, and did not buy my loyalty. I bought a used 2011 GLK350 in March 2013. My car ownership model includes buying used, paying off the loan as quickly as possible, and enjoying at least a couple of years of routine maintenance with perhaps one major thing going wrong and being replaced. I anticipate running the mileage up to 250,000 - 300,000 before looking for my next used car. The GLK350 drove well, but was fussy, taking only premium gas and giving only, at best, 23 mpg. This car also had a number of interior features that broke with normal use and cost $500 each to fix. A left rear axle $2K, and no polite enjoyment of the car without forking out yet more money. Did not even make 225,000 miles! My new car is not a Mercedes, and already shows 29 mpg on Regular gas. The GLK350 was nice, but it did not give me a good return on my investment. Unless in the future I have money to throw away, I do not think I will be spending it on a Mercedes. I had expected better of this maker. Previously I have bought Subaru, Toyota, Chevrolet, Nissan, and Volvo (before Ford bought the franchise).

Really Nice Car

First off allow me to address my "Star ratings" - The review demanded that I provide a reliability rating but I have only owned it for a week (no breakdown yet) - i have no clue how reliable it will prove to be. I expect very reliable. I am 65 years old and have owned dozens of cars of all different brands and will never again buy a car that is not Mercedes Benz. MB is the only brand to give me 300,000 miles +. My 19 year old mechanically perfect E320 was starting to look tired and my wife wanted to try a small SUV/crossover. We are beyond young kids and this car is perfect. Lots of visibility, Smooth and quiet ride and lots of front seat room. i am 6'3 and this car is not at all tight on me. BUT the back seat and cargo area are snug. Even so my wife made a 200 mile drive to Wash DC with 3 other women in the car and they were all comfortable. I do not think 4 adult men would be so comfortable. It is not a car for a family with 2 car sets and strollers and all the kid kitnkaboodle - but perfect for my 2 person family lifestyle... yadayadayadayada

The best driving SUV I've ever owned

I love the exterior lines, the color, it has plenty of power. The interior is very elegant easy to clean, all the button are easy to see and it rides very comfortable down the road. The gas mileage is not the best in the world, but can't have everything without spending just a little bit more money.

Test drove and loved it but...

I was recently in the market for a second car. After driving past a local dealer I saw they had a 2011 GLK 350 on the lot. Peaking my interest I decided to test drive it. I really liked this car but since it was a base model, it was missing what I felt are very basic features that a luxury car should come standard with. No sunroof, keyless-go, push button start (although I think you can install the button so you don't have to use keyfob but not sure if that's an option for the 2011), just to name a couple. I love the feel and how it drives although if you read other reviews or video reviews some label it's handling poorly. For a "low end" MB I think it's pretty dreamy.
