GLK350 w/ AMG package
I prefer to drive a sportscar but needed a utility vehicle for commuting to work and hauling around a baby. This fits the bill perfectly for me. Doesn't burn gas like a full size SUV (my trip is reading 21.6 mpg avg so far), and I've heard this truck was built on a C-class platform which I guess explains why it sits low to the ground and drives and handles like a sportscar. Best of both worlds. A great sports-ute that is so much fun to drive and has plenty of power for maneuvering on the highway. I have navigation, bluetooth, ipod connectivity, satellite radio and the upgraded amg package with 20" wheels and trim. Arctic white on black.....this truck is gorgeous, sporty, fun and solid. Plan to see at least a 45K sticker on this car after adding desirable options. Well worth it for a new benz in my opinion. My third MB and all three have been reliable. Love it!

Great Value and Quality from Merc
So why did I buy this car? Firstly, because of the excellent service I received from MB on 2 previous vehicles. My last car was a Porsche, what a nightmare ! The GLK feels solid, quality exudes from it. "Made in Germany". MB has gone back to it's roots of an exceptional quality product. On the other hand the Porsche was just a money pit. I put $8,000.00 into it last year alone. replaced the horns 2 times ( which involved taking the front bumper off first ) Oil Change $500.00, Clutch went twice in 5 yrs at $2,500 a pop ... electrical, ignition ... it just kept coming ... But for Mercedes, Solid as a rock !!! I like the way the've bucked the trend and gone with retro-modern for the styling. A masculine edge. With the upgraded 20" wheels and Sport package. This is one great looking vehicle. I don't care what any wussy round edge loving journalist say. This is a fantastic looking machine ! This is a car I would never be ashamed to pull into my driveway. Can't say the same for the competition. Although you have to look at much more than just the car. Even if this is a wonderful machine. I see some "know it all" journalists voted the Porsche Cayenne as best SUV. Try getting any form of reasonable service from Porsche. Mercedes gives you a Mercedes as a loaner when you go in for warranty service. You're lucky if Porsche gives you a Skoda ! So be very weary my friends. Know that these auto reviews don't base anything on dealership service, but I guarantee that you will ! And Yeah, Yeah, the 3 pointed star goes a long way... Mostly because it has represented excellence for years. Yes, the whole Chrysler thing was a huge mistake. But MB is way past that now. Great companies learn from their mistakes. All I can say is. What a great machine ! At an excellent price. quality, value. You just can't go wrong. GLK is the machine for me !

Better than any American Crossover, by far
I drove the Lincoln and Cadillac crossovers before buying this reliable and fun to drive alternative. The Lincoln was all plastic in and out and the one I test drove had pieces of ventilation loose and an acceleration problem that caused me to pull over on the freeway and call for help. The Cadillac SRX had a stupid pop-up navigation window that blocked sightline thru the dash (how stupid is that) and a very metallic/ugly trim thing inside that made it look too loud. The sight lines were terrible. It drove nice though. For the money the GLK oushone these cars by a long shot. Avoid the black MB tex interior and go for leather as it heats up like an oven whenever the sun shines. Hard to find leather is worth the extra money and wait.
