Most problematic car I've owned- Nissan Altima
I've had this car for one year and it has given me many problems. I've wasted time and money. Every time I take it to get fixed the dealership acts like if they've never heard of those problems before and up to this point nothing has been fixed! -odometer -steering wheel shakes in speeds above 55 -brakes -2 times had problems with it starting

Feels Just Right
I leased a 2005 Altima SL in Majestic Blue with the blond interior, and the overall effect is stunning. Some think I traded 'down' from my 2003 Maxima GLE, but to be honest, the Altima more fun to drive, handles better, is screwed together better, and the interior quality rivals some more expensive cars. I drove the 4 cyl SL over the 6 as a test, and for the fact it didn't take premium fuel* Can honestly say get a combined mileage figure of 26-27; 33 on the highway, and 22 in town, which seems to be disparate somehow. The 2.5 is plenty fast, nice and responsive intown and goes like heck on the highway. 2 caveats though. I'm not real thrilled with the paint quality on my car; it scratches too easily in car washes and parking lots. Also, in order to have all the 'goodies' you have to get the SL package which I think is somewhat over priced. Bose stereo great, car is quiet with no buffeting w/sunroof open at higher than legal speeds. Also very manuverable; turning radius far superior to Maxima and you can see out of it better. Doesn't feel as 'boaty.' Love the IRS, and if you leave tranny in 3 on the twisties, the car seems to find it's own niche. A manual 'sport shift' would top it off. Back seat passengers are amazed at the amount of room, and one person thought it was a six when he was riding in it. All who ride/hear it agree the 'growl' from the 4 is just right. I have a great dealer in Marlboro Nissan; this is my/our 6th. Drive it, you'll love it!! Just drive the 4 first, as it could save you some serious cash. *Some will tell you that putting regular in the Max works just as well. It doesn't. You lose punch and overall MPG.

Poor Materials
I have a 2005 Nissan Altima and this is my second Altima. But this time things are not going good. Whit 25000 Miles I had to replace four tires. The dealer sad to look for tires outside because the quality of the tires that comes in this car is bad. My car now has 43000 and the Shocks are the next stop."

Satisfaction despite lackluster performance
I am completely satisfied with my purchase after one year, but I do regret choosing the 4-cylinder engine to save some money. Highway driving is uneventful compared to my former Maxima with a 6-cylinder. Even city driving can be annoying with the hesitation in pickup I experience. Overall this car is incredibly enjoyable. Few details were overlooked in styling, both interior and exterior. The ride is smooth although cabin noise is noticeable on the highway. Friends assume it is high-end by its look and feel. Were I to purchase it again, I would select the 3.5S model, with built-in XM satellite tuner...it's quite annoying to have the XM tuner mounted next to the shifter in the way of passengers.

The Cure for the Vanilla Sedan
I bought my Altima used with 26k miles and have been very pleased. Other than a couple minor warranty and one recall issue, I look forward to keeping this car for a long time. I have already put almost 20k miles on it and would change very little about it. The bose sound system is great. I was sold on the looks of the exterior of the altima, but the interior is very nice as well. They updates from the last years interior are like day and night. Much nicer materials and less plastic. Lots of great compartments, plenty of interior room and a good size trunk. The 4 cyl has lots of pep and still gets great mileage. I get from 23mpg of pure city driving to 28mpg on hwy, but most of the time it stays around 25mpg with mixed driving. The A/C has tons of adjustments for the right temp and I really like the steering wheel controls. Wished mine had the lumbar support on the seat but just a minor thing. What sold me on this car is that it had much more sportiness and character compared to many vanilla sedans in the same class. A great looking car and a great value overall.

I LOVE my 2005 Nissan Altima!
I had never purchased a brand new car before and when I was able to, I picked a 2005 Nissan Altima. Not only does it have a great design, it's great on gas...which we all know is important and it's reliable. I am on the road a lot, and the car is comfortable, it has ample storage space both in the trunk and center console, it has a great stereo system, and ample leg room in the back seats. I also love that it has 2 battery chargers so that I can charge my phone and my laptop at the same time. In addition to the car's features, the dealership's sales and service was outstanding, which is important when you are buying a car. You can't go wrong with a Nissan!
