Great Little Car
I have owned a Versa SL hatchback for nearly two months now. It is the best small car I've ever owned. It is responsive and peppy with great acceleration and handling. It comes with all the bells and whistles. It gets 27 mpg in city driving. Best of all, I guess, is the low price.and consequent great value.

Talk about an upgrade!
I typically drive cars until they drop, which I almost did with the old 1994 Ford this care replaced. I can't say enough about how good it feels to drive a new car. The Versa far outshone every other car we test drove in this class. It feels like a big luxury sedan compared to the Fit or Yaris, and it looks a lot better, too. The extra gadgets are like gravy. The bluetooth link is super-cool and the voice recognition works better than in a lot of BMWs I've seen. Of course, the speakerphone makes you sound like you're in a long metallic tube, but this is true on a lot of $60,000 cars, too. I could not be happier with the Versa. For this price, I do not see a better alternative.

My first new car
I have owned my new Versa for five months now. I own the simpler S model, with the normal automatic transmission and without some of the features that the SL model has. The car's 1.8L engine is both quiet and sufficently powerful. The car handles well for its size (although the extra-smooth steering took me a little time to get used to). The car is surprisingly roomy - back seat passengers have yet to complain, contrary to my expectations. The only problem with the car is that it only gets 22-23 mpg in LA's crowded city streets and freeways. So, I was a bit disappointed at the difference between what Nissan advertises and reality. I have had only chance to drive the car entirely on the highway, where it did get over 30 mpg. Overall, this car is a great buy, because for about the same price (or even a bit less) you get a car that has both a larger engine and a roomier interior than its competitors from Toyota and Honda.

A 4 Cylinder Gas Hog
I bought the Versa because of gas mileage, unfortunately, it fails miserably there. Instead of the 28 city and 35 highway (Automatic transmission), it gets 23 city and 26 for pure highway. I could have purchased a mid or full-sized car to get similar mileage (I am embarassed to say that my friend's 8 cyclinder, feature-loaded Cadillac gets similar mileage). The rest of the car is okay--good passenger room, nice interior, but that doesn't pretty up this pig--it's still a gas hog!

My Classy Ride
After 9.000 miles and no problems, I feel as though I can give my thumbs up for this vehicle, a Versa SL 1.8 w/the CVT ! I am a bit disappointed with the fuel mileage. I have driven the car from Hartford, CT. thru the hills of Scranton, PA. on I-81 down through the eastern states on I-95, then onto I-4 to Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL. All of the freeway driving on cruise control and I still only averaged 31 mpg. I am very pleased the the car after trading in a 2002 Nissan Maxima w/75,000 miles on it. The Versa is much more "fun" to drive; tracks better and handles much better than the Max. I average about 375 miles before the low fuel light comes on and then I have about one and a half gallons left to get to the next station. My major concern was to be able to get around in comfrot, with good fuel mileage and respectful handling. I got them all. Last but not least, I also opted for the ABS brakes; mandatory in my book.

"A sensible car"
Overall, I really do like this car. The interior design is excellent, everything is in reach and very easy to use. I love the fact that it has so many compartments, helps with all the junk I have to carry with me everyday and it helps that these compartments are located at sensible locations. The ride of the car is pretty impressive for its class, my versa is pretty quiet though when you rev it to high rpms it can get very noisy. But, when cruising it is very quiet and also handles potholes very well. I really like the sound system, I blast my music a lot, and I have to admit that it has pretty decent sound quality. As far as performance, it is the only area that I am not so impressed with. It is not an enthusiast's car. Going from a v6 to the Versa was very hard for me to adjust to. Especially on highways, easy passing situations for my v6 became very dangerous situations for my new Versa. It is really true that passing will take some planning. I have to admit though it is pretty peppy for city driving though. I think that is when I have the most fun driving it. Handling is a little mushy but ok overall, and steering can be a little wierd. Other than that I think it is a great for those who are looking for more bang for their buck, especially w/ all the amenities available with the cvt's. If you are a driver enthusiast who enjoys and prefers speed/performance over roominess/comfort/ good gas milage, then the Versa is probably not for you.

I have Tiida
I have Tiida and it is very good, but I feel it is not a sporty car at all. Also when driving on more than 160 km/h, with 4000rpm, you feel something not quiet right about the car. However, it is safe, nice, and driving it is a joyfl experience

What's Not to Like?
I live in a mostly rural area with limited traffic and long streches of country roads. To go further I have easy access to freeways and the hustle that goes with it. On the country roads I enjoy my excellent sound system and occasionally find myself using cruise control to make my daily commute of 27 miles. Passing gas stations is a new treat and the advertisments of getting 400 miles to a tank is within reach. On the freeways I find myself easily able to merge with my CVT automatic transmission and can keep up with anyone I choose. I don't feel like a second-class citizen driving an econo-box. Seats are very comfortable with plenty of leg room for all. I like the interior amenities and enjoy driving again. I like the fact that I didn't pay too much for the fuel economy offered, and didn't have to compromise the big-car feel to get it. I love my Versa and believe that I am part of a new wave of American drivers that will scale down in size but not be forced to compromise with performance or amenities.

Six foot six inch old guy feels young!
Owning more than two dozen cars in the last 45 years, every single one of them has either had numerous defects off the line needed dealer repair; or engineering flaws resulting in less than a perfect car. The 2007 Nissan Versa is a superior value merging low purchase price, beautiful ergonomics, plethora of options, great performance, superior mileage, and decent street appeal. So far, the finest conveyance I've ever owned. Time will tell if my initial enthusiasm remains. I rate this vehicle a 9.5. Nothing gets a 10.

wow, what a sharp car at a cheap price
I was going to buy a civic but couldn,t find the right color. I found a red versa onthe lot ,and after a 25 minute test drive ,I bought it. I'm getting 34 mpg. car handles great, quiet, and cvt is so smooth. Keyless ignition with great sound system are big pluses. Back seat gives adults so much room. I drove Honda fit, toyota yaris, susuki aerio, and ford focus. versa is the clear best value and car.
