Best of Both Worlds
The G8 GT combines sports car performance with family car utility. Great space, nice materials with great acceleration, handling and sound. The V8 with 6 speed automatic is a great powertrain package.

Turns Heads
I was incredibly fortunate to find this car at a dealer after the model year was over still brand new and got a terrific deal. I get comments on it all the time how good it looks! The outside looks fabulous and the interior is comfortable and surprisingly roomy, particularly in the rear seating. Some of the extra bells and whistles are great as well, like the upgraded sound/display system and remote start is great for cold Ohio winters. My sons are already fighting over who gets this car! Rear wheel drive provides amazing handling as well; most people my age (mid-60's) are turned off by this feature, but I found it a major selling point. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a roomier sedan that still possesses youthful styling and solid performance!

Great car gone....
This is a great car better than the local made stuff. I drove one when I was in Australia before it came to the US and was greatly impressed. So impressed I have bought one here just with Pontiac styling on it - not great. The V6 is great on fuel for its size and can be driven hard or light either way. I find tall people like the car. Its also a great towing car too

Last Best
I have a GXP with the manual transmission. The transmission shift action is much better than my 2005 GTO. Firm but not punshing ride. Brakes work well, but got spoiled by a previous car that I had stainless braided brake lines installed which gave a better firmness to the pedal. I get 28 mpg highway with cruise control on. Too bad people are more concerned about the status of the brand of car they drive than what capability and quality of what they drive. The GXP excels everywhere that the German brands do. I've driven the 550i. There isn't anything the 550I has over the GXP, except the 550i's tens of thousands higher price. What status is there in over-paying?

Enjoy Your Car Again
Late at night on the backroads in the country side you may hear me and my Pontiac G8 6 litre. But not the abnoxious exhaust or tires squealing around corners, as it simply does not need to do that. It will be my screams of delight as I shift from 3rd to 4th gear at 4000 rpm, heart thumping, and mind racing as to what to do if I ever shift into sixth gear as I am already at 2 times the speed limit. My '76 455 Trans Am is fun but not overally enjoyable after 8 hours of driving. I ENJOY this car. It handles great, is super comfortable, and best of all has "life". Give this car a try. Easy going and as hard as you dare, it will not dissapoint you. What once was my most dreaded sections of road, 45 minutes of twist and turns with only 3 passing areas, has now become new my playground. I can't wait to get back in my G8 and drive it again. Occasionaly some other car will try to join in the fun, but as they say, three is a crowd...see ya :)

ZERO Compromise
Purchased as a demo (2K) - out the door for under $26K. 19" Wheels and sport package. Admittedly not a Pontiac or even a GM fan - but those that know cars, know that this is simply a great performance sedan. Cross shopped lightly used BMW 550i - no comparison, BMW had no mid-range punch, cheap feeling controls and tiny back seat leg room - oh and the price thing. Great tranny, motor, fit and finish after 10K miles. Even can average close to 23 mpg on the highway - find something else that can come near that approaching 400hp. If your really into performance, a real back seat, great looks and hate wasting money even if you can - this is a terrific choice - no posers here.

Best Bang for the Buck
I have a 2009 G8 GT and it is a dream to drive performance, handling and comfort. Had a 2006 GTO and that was smoking fast this is pretty close but much better ride. Main issue why not have Navigation? Supposed to be a touring car!

Tell the wife its an economy car!
As a traveling rep, I spend a lot of windshield time behind the wheel. I've owned both foreign and domestic vehicles, and put well over 200K on most of them. I decided that for once, I would get a car I desired. No disappointment in my decision, as with only 3400 miles it performs as expected and more. The car is very fast, comfortable, and with the 6 speed auto and tall gearing relaxed at cruising speed. It is only turning 1500 rpm @65mph, and 2000 rpm@80. At a steady 65 I can get 31.8 mpg. The problem is that everyone want to seem to race you. When you punch it, you are doing over 90 mph before you know it. The interior is spacious, the seats comfortable, and the handling is excellent. The ride is just a little hard, but considering the handling, it is the best compromise, and the vehicle is rock solid under all conditions. Just a few problems are the seat angle adjustment is by a knob, and the window switches are in the console. This is a drivers car that outperforms anything in its price range. If you need a 4 door Camaro or Corvette, this is your only choice. It will scare the wife when you put your foot into it, and make Camry's, Accord's, Acura's, Lexus's, Audi's, Mercedes, & most BMW's disappear in your rear view mirror in a matter of seconds, all on regular 87 fuel. At less than $28K out the door, why would one settle for anything less?
