Where's the engineering?
Don't buy this car if you're taller than six feet. The driving position is a cross between a 70s Fiat and a middle ages touture rack. The wipers are useless in moderate snow. The deiceing function ignores the outside mirrors, and remember to brush the snow off the top of the driver's door or you'll have a damp butt all the way to work. To top it off the sound system reminds me of the radio I had in a 1961 Corvair. Maybe I should have purchased another Chrysler 300C.

Best Pontiac to date.
Purchased: New Aug, 2008 Three last previous cars: 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, 1996 Audi A6 Quattro, 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (Traded in on G8) 1st Impressions: Much nicer and higher quality on both interior and exterior fit and finish from what has been common from GM up until 2007+. It is now up to par with any competitor Nissan/Toyota/Honda. Being built by Holden in Oz seem to be a good thing here? Have a child in a car seat in the back and a wife that really likes the comfort. Has a very appealing stance and look way more aggressive from other cookie cutter looking car out there. Huge interior space for leg room both front and rear, safety features like 6 air bags and stability track control standard. Interior is very German feel and finish, having owned two Audi?s I do really like the upscale feel and design. It handles like a much smaller car despite weighing in at 3996# Got the car on our way on vacation to Ca from MT. Drove it 3700 miles in two weeks along the Oregon and CA Coast?through the Desert back to Utah in 120 Degree weather without a flinch, and it was a blast. VERY comfortable ride, and yet super sporty without sacrificing handling and comfort?.that is VERY hard to do. Long drive impressions: Acceleration? AWESOME I will say and will make the most boring driver get back to life. No weird squeaks or rattles ever occurred so far. Braking? AWESOME?..have saved me from a few run in with deer already. The only bad thing about the G8? GM doesn?t market this car to the masses? How many have you seen? Very few? Rear wheel drive is on its way back people, and go try one out??YOU will be surprised that this is a Pontiac. It is GM?s best kept secret so far, and that is BAD to keep secrets. In the snow it handles just fine with stud less winter tires, how many of you had a large 60?s or 70?s land barge for a 1st car? You did fine then with rear wheels drive in the winter? This is 30 years later? Give it a try.

This car brings back my performance car days
My Pacific Slate 2009 G8-GT is truly a performance car for not a lot of money. I like the engines power, the exterior body design and the chrome tipped quad exhaust. The seats and the comfort are another matter. I cannot adjust the seat, back and headrest for a comfortable fit. The floor mats are very cheap and the radio/CD player is not my favorite, and the sound quality is simply not there. Why not offer chrome wheels? My gas mileage is 13.5 and I drive with economy in mind. I added one quart of oil at 750 miles. All in all it is a car that gets a lot of positive compliments. I will see if this car lives up to its promises
