Solid Subaru quality

This new vehicle has everything you could ask for in an automobile - from comfortable ride to great sound system to every form of safety feature. It is a solid, well built vehicle that can compete in quality with other similar vehicles from the "luxury" manufacturers, but without their high price tag.

Awesome vehicle.

Subaru has stepped up its design and manufacturing to compete with some of the finest luxury vehicles. I would favorably compare it to my Audi Q7

Most comfortable, reliable car we have ever owned

Super smooth ride, very comfortable interior, technology and safety features mostly standard. AWD standard is a great feature. The 3rd row is a big hit with the kids

Serious Safety Issue with 2nd Row Bottom Leaver

My husband and I have test-drived the new Subaru Ascent. We were looking so forward to ordering a new one to replace our Subaru Outback . We really like Subarus , we also owned a Subaru Forester. I would like to point at a safety design issue that it is a deal breaker for us and it will probably cause a serious accident sooner than later. All other cars with a 2nd row seat tilt we have seen , has the tilt leaver in the side or top side of the seat. Subaru has one of those, but somehow another leaver was added to the bottom side of the seat, where the back positioning leaver usually is. That bottom leaver can be released with one finger and it will tilt the back of the seat to the front forcefully and release the back-front sliding lock. Any child in a child safety seat or booster seat can unlock the bottom leaver, however their legs not touching the ground would prevent them to lock it back in place, as any adult would do if pressing the leaver by mistake. It would make them fold to the front even with a child car seat attached . If a parent panics and breaks, as the car seat is unlock it will slid to the front and slam the child against the front passenger or driver seats, crushing the child further. This is a serious safety issue which has several very easy solutions (change bottom leaver position, eliminate bottom leaver or create a lock mechanism for that leaver while in motion). I have to add that the top leaver released in the second row is not accessible for a child, it is difficult even for an adult to reach while seating in that seat so I have no complains about that one. I will post this review to several websites to highlight the issue to other parents considering buying the Ascent, as I am sure one child will try to push the bottom leaver at one point.

Outstanding vehicle, well designed and practical.

Subaru did well on this one. It is right size, fashionable and quick. Was concerned about 2.4 L motor but it kicks butt. Lithia in town was civil and offered great trade for old auto

This is the best out of seven previous Subarus

This car meets my needs when family visits plenty of leg room and comfort. The 4 cyl turbocharged motor has more power than I could have imagined. I love this Subaru

Not like other Subarus

I have driven Subarus since 1981 and I can honestly say , I am extremely mystified how off this vehicle is from other Subarus. Not sure what Subaru was trying to accomplish, but if fuel economy was their only focus, they have a winner. This vehicle is lacking in many other areas and not typical of Subarus. First, it is under powered. Around town it did OK, but at highway speeds is where more power is needed. At 65 MPH, it struggles to keep up badly. You feel the shakes and jerks constantly. A sever loss of power is felt when you try to accelerate to pass. This, in my opinion is a major flaw and diminishes the ride quality. Another major flaw is theover powered steering. It makes it very difficult to keep going straight without constant jerky corrections. Keeping my Outback a little longer.

Best all-around vehicle we've owned

We have only owned our Subaru Ascent for about 2 weeks and couldn't be more pleased. It's almost self-driving, and has more features and neat technology packed into it than we can master in our 2 weeks. So were pleased that our local Subaru dealership has scheduled a "Love-Encore Visit" date this coming week to review and familiarize us with the many features. Although we had initially limited our search to a Forester (my brother and his wife have two in upper Michigan), we just couldn't pass up on the newly-arrived Ascent. It's generous size and power will provide additional cargo space and flexibility. Finally, our Subaru dealership was pleasant to work with - from the low key sales person through to a good deal and follow-up. My wife and I couldn't be happier.

Little pricey for me

Only test drove. Handling was great especially the power steering, you can turn steering wheel with one finger. Better than my 2018 Outback! Have to wait for pricing to go down. Maybe next year.
