worst used car I have ever owned!!!

TRANS WENT OUT IN 80 K MILES. SUBARU DANCED OUT OF AS IT WAS A"SALVAGE TITLE" UNDER POWERED, POOR RIDE FOR THE MONEY, AWD IS A JOKE THIS THING GETS STUCK IN IT'S OWN TRACKS!!! TOTAL JOKE IN ADVERTISING AS THEY SAY THEY ARE IN IT FOR LON HAUL, OR NOT, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES!

Choose A Different Model

My wife bought a loaded Crosstrek the first year they came out. She has owned 3 other Subarus and loved them all. This car was a headache. Very noisy at highway speeds. (tires, wind, engine, etc.) Build quality below average for a japanese product. Thankfully; she got an extended warranty. CVT transmission blew at 70,000 miles. (common. Suburu has extended the standard warranty on this to 100,000 miles.) Engine had to be pulled and re-sealed for oil leaks at 90,000 miles. Plastic trim is cheap and flimsy. (especially interior items). AWD is great to have and works well, but mileage is so-so and the little 2.0 litre motor is overworked. They may have sorted this car out by now; but stay away from early examples.

Owned one: Traded it and back and bought another.

Just the right size for a urban lifestyle. Quite comfortable and nicely equipped for the premium model. The safety features work quite well and don't seem to be overly sensitive.

Subaru safety record was deciding factor

Love it!!!! I've wanted a subaru for over a year but didn't want to go to louisville for it. To find one at home was awsome. The big thing for me is safety and subaru has a great safety record.

meh. Not impressed. Going back to Toyota or Hond

Runs fine but super uncomfortable and not much storage for a crossover. I could load more and bigger items in my Prius. Bought it new, but found out the GPS/mapping system is obsolete. It usually shows me driving in the middle of a pasture instead of on a highway. Dealer, Maita, says there isn't anything they can do except sell me an upgraded system. Not what I expected after spending $37,000. I won't buy another one.

More Than I Expected

Going from a Toyota pick-em-up to a all wheel drive compact SUV really surprised me as to how easy it is to get comfortable driving it. Crisp steering, very good power/acceleration, love the safety features and both the interior and exterior styling. The only thing that is a slight concern is the firmness of the seat - tho they adjust, it is still not low enough for me (6') when using a 1" cushion. The amenities are plentiful and the height and stance of the Crosstrek meets my needs for going off road, especially when using the paddle shiftier to override the automatic transmission.

Disappointing Interior design

I drive for my job. Door pockets aren't large enough or square to be useful. Center console is a C minus! I'm 5'5., must reach way back to lift storage cover. VERY BAD. there are 2 useless recesses in the center console --too shallow to hold a cell phone or pen -- what are they for? cup holders set too far back. and PS: never open the door if it's been Snowing!!! it all lands in the driver's seat. Obviously not designed by an outdoor team!

It’s very reliable and gas saver

This car met all my needs. It’s sporty and the design is great. The only thing I would redesign is the back storage. It needs more space. Overall it’s great for its price. Also note the lugnuts seem to get jammed so beware when changing tires and let the dealer know to manually loosen up the lugnuts to avoid jamming. Otherwise it’s gonna cost you more money to have them fix
