Subaru Eye Sight technology is a winner
I upgraded to a 2019 Subaru primarily to get the latest driver safety technology and the Eye Sight system in my new Forester is everything I expected and more. It will definitely keep me safer in my travels and also encourage me to be a more attentive driver. The 2019 Forester has adequate horsepower for merging and passing but I still wish it had better acceleration. Other than that, I think all of the Forester are excellent but it would be nice if the Touring trim level included automatic folding side mirrors.

Great SUV
I love my new Subaru Forester. Gas mileage is averaging 32 on the highway and 27 in town. Apple CarPlay work great; so, I saved a few thousand dollars and did not get a navigation system.

I Really Love this car!
This is by far the nicest car I have ever owned. The ride is fantastic! It has everything a driver could want--including heated seats and a great audio package. Two of my grown children also own Subarus. I'm very happy that I took their advice and looked into getting one myself. This has been the best purchase ever!

Solid build and enjoyable ride.
The car is roomy, comfortable and has all of the extras you could want. It performs quite well but only slightly under powered. Agile and maneuvers through traffic easily. Fun and practical.

Think again on this one
I've driven the 2019 Subaru Forester Touring model for a month, about 2500 miles. I'll start with the good. The seats are very comfortable and the entertainment system is great. Mine came with a trial subscription to Sirius xm radio and that has been enjoyable. The visibility is amazing on the car; there are no blind spots. Plenty of storage and extremely roomy. If all you were going to do is sit in the car you would be happy. Now the cons. It is true that the cup holders are in a very weird and hard to reach place, almost behind you. I'm still not used to that. It's also true that there is only one small cubby in the front that doesn't really hold much. They put the usb outlet deep under there so it's hard to find. The windshield seems to break easily. I got one small rock chip and it put a crack through the entire windshield. I've never had a car that the window breaks in half over a tiny rock chip, and don't think that you're going to get a replacement easily. The replacement windshields are very expensive and there is a two month wait. The real deal breaker for me on this vehicle is how it handles at high speeds. I have a 1.5 hour commute to work so I spend most of my time driving at 70 mph. The car is oddly unstable at higher speeds. When I get it up to about 50 it seems impossible to keep the car straight. I can hold the wheel straight, but the car seems to "walk" from side to side. It really frightened me at first. Now I'm used to it but I hate it. The car seems extremely sensitive to any wind and drag from larger vehicles next to you, and the wind noise is very loud. I feel as though I can't take my eye off the road for a second or I'm going to pull into the vehicle next to me. The cornering is terrible, very spastic and jerky. I had the dealership check the alignment and they said it's ok. They insulted my intelligence by telling me that it must be the lane assist feature I'm experiencing; not the case. When you have to break hard the car will also walk from side to side; very unstable. The engine start/stop feature is a little less refined than other vehicles I've driven with this feature. The re-start is jarring and evident. All in all, I find this vehicle very comfortable but frightening to drive due to the instability in handling. I've been driving for 30 years and I've never experienced a car that handles so poorly. The car I had before this was also a Subaru and I was very loyal to the brand due to how great my old car was. This will definitely be my last Subaru though. Anyone considering purchasing this car needs to take it on an extensive high speed test drive. The steering problems won't be so evident at low speeds so don't let that fool you.
