An SUV smarter than me!
We purchased our first SUV because the primary driver felt the need to sit a lot higher while driving the car. Sitting in a 2013 Camry was beginning to become uncomfortable, with most drivers sitting much higher than we were sitting.

I?m new to the Subaru family, but I?m thrilled
I?m new to the Subaru family, but I?m thrilled that I joined. Here?s why. First of all, I want to tell you why I picked Subaru over the others in the segment. It came down to a few things. The price of the 2019 Forester Sport was reasonable, and it came with many standard features that I would have to pay extra to get elsewhere. Subaru?s reputation as a reliable company with great safety features is legendary. However, the deciding factor for me was the test drive. Within seconds I liked the car and a few miles later I knew that I had to have it. I recently took my family of four on a three-day, 1200-mile trip from eastern Maryland to southern West Virginia. I was apprehensive about this as many of the professional reviewers mentioned the Forester struggled to pass cars on the highway. I have to say, after driving up and down the roads in the Appalachia Mountains, I found that to be untrue. My Forester, we have named Ru, handled passing other cars on 2 to 3% inclines with ease. The engine didn?t struggle or whine; it just did what I expected. We did hit a few patches of ice and snow. Not a lot, but from what I did experience, the sure-footed Subaru did a fantastic job when needed. Also, we got 31.9 MPG on the trip. The trip, which we drove eight hours on the first day, and another eight on the third day, was extremely comfortable. My children sat comfortably in the back. We have an eight-year-old in a booster seat and a two-year-old in a car seat. Both had plenty of leg room. My eight-year-old really enjoyed the rear reclining seats. Up front, I was extremely comfortable. The cabin is organized nicely with everything within reach. We are, however, use to a much larger vehicle as my last was a 2011 F-150. I actually enjoyed the smaller space as my wife and I were more able to assist the children in the rear in the Forester than the cavernous F-150. The infotainment system Subaru offers in really sleek. It responds to commands smoothly and looks great. Android Auto and Apple Car Play come standard. I have the 6.5-inch screen which has all of the features of the 8 inch, just a little smaller. You can upgrade to one with navigation, but with Android Auto, I didn?t need to pay the extra money. My favorite feature of the Forester is the adaptive cruise control. I set it at the speed I wanted, and the technology did an excellent job of slowing us down and speeding us up when needed. I expected that after being slowed by a car in front, that when I switched lanes to pass the Forester would try to accelerate us at breakneck speeds like most cruise controls, but that wasn?t the case. The car came to speed at a comfortable pace, which is adjustable in the menu if you want more or less speed. I also tested this feature in stop and go traffic while going through a Christmas light show through a state park. The Forester kept us at a safe distance from the cars in front. If they stopped the Forester stopped, and when they resumed, the Forester resumed without any additional input from me. I drove for 20 minutes in that stop and go traffic without putting my foot on a pedal. There are a few things that I don?t like about my Forester. The first is that the sport trim doesn?t have memory seating positions. So, if my wife drives it, I have to adjust back to the sweet spot manually. This isn?t a huge issue for me as my wife rarely drives my car. The second issue was that I could not find a way to drive with the lights off at night. It seems weird, but when driving through the lights at the park, most people drive with only the park lights on. I could not find out how to do this. Maybe there is a way, but it avoided me when I needed it. Overall, this seems to be a great car. I?m thrilled with my purchase. My kids love it and think it cool. I?m delighted with my purchase.

2019 Forester Sport. Boo Yah
Although the car is new to our family, my wife and I love it. The Sport with the Harmon Kardon system and blind spot detection is a perfect bend of perfect. My second Subaru....these cars are awesome. Peppy. Good gas mileage. And lots of people have commented on how cute/cool/sporty/tough the Sport model looks.
