I hate lemons
i have a brand new 2009 legacy pzev. Driving it is not bad, it has the 5 spd manual gearbox. The only problem is this cars a lemon. after about 2500 miles the check engine light came on along with the traction control off light and the cruise control was blinking at me. I took it for the 3000 mile service and they told me that once one of them comes on then all 3 of them go on. So i said ok and left. For about 30 miles everything was fine, then they came back on not even an hour after i left the dealer.Everybody sitting in the backseat complains about it being uncomfortable. This car even in the drivers seat is not good for long drives, the seats are way too firm. So now at 9300 miles all the lights are still blinking at me even after the 8000 mile service. 2 of my electricity outlets in the car don't work. On some of my cd's the back 2 speakers and the sub don't work (harmon kardon stereo). Also i have an oil leak which has happened 3 times. The car also stalls sometimes when i come to a complete stops even when i'm not in gear, and when the car idles it shakes uncontrollably and gets very annoying. The good things about this car that i can list are that the car handles great, it is very peppy though it won't win many drag races. Pretty good gas mileage almost 30 on the highway about 22-23 around town. The sound system is awesome when it works. Breaks are good. and that's about it. This would be a great car if it wasn't a lemon that's why i recommend it to other buyers, because i seem to be the only one having these problems.

If it's a Legacy - it's gotta be a GT
I went from a large American coupe which I loved to the Legacy GT Ltd. I wanted something a bit smaller and quicker as I live and travel in and out of the city these days. The LGT is a sleeper and a bona-fide sports sedan. The paddle shifters are a blast on twisty and hilly roads. The 243 horse boxer engine is sweet and easy to tune up to 290 hp with a "chip" and performance exhaust upgrade. The center armrest sits low, one can purchase an extender for a hundred bucks - it's worth it. Great in the curves and the three position SI drive feature is really a treat. The safety ratings are great- air bags all around. I don't have passengers often, so the back seat area being a bit snug is not an issue. The symmetrical AWD, traction control, ltd. slip differential and vehicle stability make this car a cut above. What you get for the money is outstanding. The gas mileage is only ok at 23-24 combined, but the trade off is worth it. The GT should be fed with 91 octane as well, especially if you like to "get on it."

2 time Legacy Owner - loved them both
I owned an 05 Legacy Sedan and traded it on an 07 Legacy Wagon. I have had the 07 since Feb of 07 and both cars have been great. I wish they still made the wagon because its a great value. The car is very fun to drive, comfortable for long trips, zero problems, plenty of aftermarket support, and you can even take it to the track for some fun! I recommend getting an aftermarket grill w/o the wings it looks much better and upgrading the tires. The factory tires are awful...discount tire compared them to cardboard with grooves. The best part is the resale value and it isn't like every other car on the road...oh and AWD rules with the snow we have had! Great car, I'll likely get a 3rd when the new model comes out in 2010

Great value for money, upscale interior
Leased a 2.5SE about 3 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Spent a long time researching and definitely made the right choice. For 23K you get moonroof, AWD, XM radio, Leather interior, VDC, 385 Watt HK stereo and the list goes on. The interior is 90% covered with soft touch materials and looks and functions great. The interior is at least 10K better than its price. Early mileage has been mid 20's in 50-50 driving. Only criticism would be slightly snug cabin and a little short on storage for small items up front.

great car, just not for familys
we got in one of these and hated it but as the test drive went on we like it more and more, but sadly not enough. the seats arent the most plush and are pretty darn firm. but we like how the car had good pick up and superb handeling but the rear seat was cramped and our 5'2" daughter didnt like it one bit over all though the car is nice and things are where they should be. but in the end we ended up driving home in a 2009 Forester. its funny how things work out
