Reliable, comfortable, flexible

It is great for a family or for carrying large objects. Great for outdoor activities biking, canoeing, kayaking. Wonderful on snow, safe and reliable. It also has the moonroof to also have a great experience in warm weather.

Reliable transportation.

All the bells and whistles that make driving this vehicle an excellent experience. Reliable transportation with minimum maintenance. One minor warranty problem in 3 years was resolved at the dealership quickly. Routine maintenance work performed in a timely manner while waiting in the service area.

I will not own a Subaru again

Since new it was a little lemon, in less than a year the Battery went kaput, the computer system was so annoying and unreliable, the Subaru Dealer in Olympia, WA and Subaru HQ in New Jersey ignored all the car discrepancies.

Subaru owner for life now.

I love my Subaru Outback. In the past I have bought from Mazda, Nissan and Hyundai, and while I have nothing bad to say about those cars (I am a fan of all Japanese brands really), now that I've driven a Subaru, I'm never going back. What I look for most in a car is safety over anything, and I feel incredibly safe and in control when I drive my Outback, even in the base model. The AWD powertrain is trusted in the snow and on icy hills or going through overly-wet portions of road that other cars would hydroplane in. Driving on twisted mountain roads in the winter went from terrifying in past vehicles to actually fun in my Subaru. My friends who have ridden in the passenger say they feel like they are in an airplane it's such a smooth ride, no matter what the terrain.

This car drives so nice

This cat has great pickup and is so smooth to drive. It’s roomy and has alot of nice features. It’s also safe and I like the paddle shifting ability for downshifting if needed in sleet/ice/snow. Just an overall excellent car.

Our First and Last Subaru

Bought this car brand new in December of 2017 with 35 miles on the odometer. Now at 33k miles, it has been an absolute piece of crap from the start. The radio/navigation system screen, which controls all electronics functions as well as the back-up camera, works only when it wants to. The sound system cannot be turned off, only "muted," and it defaults back to the previous volume and input setting each time the car is started. Software updates that should be automatic or manually updated cannot be, and the vehicle must be taken to the dealership constantly. The Subaru dealer's response response is that "We got ahead of ourselves by rushing to get the new system into the 2018s before working out the kinks." Kudos for being honest...I guess. As to the interior, the finishes are cheap and plastic-heavy, resulting in constant rattles and vibrations even when cruising at highway speed on the interstate. I'm constantly tightening screws and bolts on the interior panels and hunting down rattles and squeaks. Mechanically the car had performed well, with the exception of having to take it in to have the OEM oil drain-plug replaced, as a standard socket wrench rounded the bolt head corners off on the first oil-change attempt. Subaru replaced it with one of a different color and metal, stating "it's a common problem." Finally, the vehicle came with 40k-mile BF Goodrich tires, which lasted 33k miles, despite correct air pressure checks weekly and tire rotation and balance every six months. The cupping of the treads led to thumping and road noise so loud I replaced them with less than three years' of highway use. Bottom line, this is our first and last Subaru. Don't believe the hype. The reliability issues and cheapness of the build quality is in no way worth the price.

Feels similar to our Passat wagon

We love this car and the versitility of the car for our kayaks and bike rack. Even a tent for accessories sounds like a fun way to travel. Havent tested it in snow though.

Most comfortable and reliable car!

We purchased new 2018. Has been a fantastic vehicle ranging from 28-33 mpg. Has great leg room (6'01" 230#'s), great in all weather conditions, an all around comfortable drive.

Excellent vehicle

Very comfortable, great gas mileage and plenty of room for camping and going to the beach . Can go out to dinner dressed, or go off-roading

Drives well, good looking, reliable, comfortable

This has been a great car for us with 26K miles so far. All our neighbors have commented on how nice it looks. We love the Eyesight features, which are truly impressive to see in action. It is smooth and comfortable on the highway and trust-inspiring off-road. I have one small complaint: the CVT is touchy when when starting from a stop, making it necessary to be very careful to not push the accelerator too far and then to back off on the accelerator as the CVT "upshifts" quickly to maximize gas mileage. I believe Subaru has fixed this in newer models. Other than that, it is a joy to drive.
