Great, Reliable and all-around versatile car.

This car does it all for me. The quality and versatility it provides satisfy most everything I need in a vehicle. (Hey, sometimes only my pickup truck will do the job). It is totally dependable and does not require anything but routine maintenance and I love the all-wheel drive and getting anywhere under any conditions. I am currently replacing it with another Outback.

One Year Update on Outback 3.6 R Limited

Purchased over a year ago and wanted to provide update: Pros: 1) Decent Gas Mileage (averaging 23 - 24 MPG mixed driving with six cylinder) 2) Good ride quality 3) Good visibility and blind spot warning/rear cross traffic alert 4) Strong acceleration for passing 5) Very good sound system when it works 6) Like text message feature when it works Cons: 1) Head unit reprogrammed twice already (sometimes does not read CD or pair with phone to this day) 2) Recall on gas gauge left me less confident about quality 3) Windows froze constantly during winter and would not open. Never had an issue with any previous vehicle including 2012 Outback. Froze even after applying silicone per dealer suggestion. Car was parked in garage and windows still froze. Subaru of America was not very helpful and neither was dealer 4) Driver seat squeak. Known issue for which Subaru does not have a lasting fix. See message boards since this impacts 2019 Outback/Legacy as well and also certain 2017 models including Forester. Squeak began at 6000 miles. 5) Steering responsive headlights froze in sub zero temps causing flashing warning on dash board We expected more from Subaru but are sorely disappointed. Given quality and engineering problems we will not keep vehicle beyond the three year warranty period for fear of major repairs and don't believe we should have to buy a $1500 extended warranty to protect ourselves. Interestingly seven plus year old Outback is still going strong. However we won't be buying another Subaru in the future.

The most satisfying car I have ever owned

Love it. Visibility, seating, comfort, handling, steering, brakes, utility. The sound of the flat 6 reminds me of my old Boxster. The infotainment system is very intuitive and logical.

Our Third Subaru in a row since 1999

We bought a 1996 Outback in 1999. After a 2000 mile trip that included scaling 2 mountains and circling volcanos, we named it "Intrepid." Replaced it with a 2010 Forrester in 2012. Due to a recent wreck, replaced that one with this 2018 Outback in 2019. These are reliable cars! We particularly like the safety features.

Great SUV

This SUV has the interior feel of much larger ones. Shoulder, head and legroom. Downgraded from an Acardia only sacrifice was trunk space . Love it.

Best car we’ve ever owned

We are delighted with our Subaru Outback. It’s great for long distance road trips and easy to handle scooting around town on errands. My husband is a big guy, and he’s as comfortable in the backseat as in the front passenger’s seat.

Best car I ever owned!

Reliable, sturdy, comfort and ride is nice. The best gas mileage ever on a large tank too. Love all the bells and whistles. Insurance went down on newer car with the safety rating!

Saved my life!

I was in a crash in my Subaru, 50mph into a concrete wall. Once extricated, I walked to the ambulance with only two broken ribs and a torn ligament. My Subaru took the impact of the crash...she saved me from life changing injuries...I will now only buy a Subaru!
