2018 Subaru Outback consumer reviews

This car meets all of my needs and adds a little more value to what I was expecting. Overall very happy to own my outback.

28000 miles new computer ,radio nav, second one acting up. 2 leaking gaskets,makes wierd shake occasionally tranny,sputters in cold weather bad sensor,windshield was making strange crackling noise cracked a month later. warranty of 32000 now i know why. Dont get this car!!!!! !!!!!!! 3.6 R touring TOP OF THE LINE??

I’ve had an Envoy, Accord, Highlander, Edge & Outback. Electrical problems (Envoy & Highlander), uncomfortable to climb in & out of (Accord), Excessive interior noise (Edge); So I bought the much acclaimed Outback. Here’s what I think of it: Has poor transmission response, I asked about it & was told it’s normal; lots of wind sheer noise, even passengers have commented, it’s excessive; excellent maintenance so generally reliable; ok comfort, nothing special; USB VERY inconvenient to access & not good technology for bluetooth, it wants to connect whether you want it to or not. The headlight & windshield washer arms don’t light the functions so when it’s dark you best have them memorized because you can’t see them; SO, I’m still looking for the perfect crossover that accommodates our pets & our lifestyle and it isn’t the Outback. If you love belonging to a club, a SUBARU is the car for you. They send you all kinds of event notifications for Subi owners. Not my thing, I just want a reliable, comfortable, quiet ride.

I am formerly a Subaru salesperson, so I got to drive different Subarus for about a year before I bought one. I think Outback is still the best of Subaru's models, even better than the Ascent and the new Forester. It will be even better next year when the 2020 model comes out and it gets the new global platform and likely the same great turbo 4-cylinder that the Ascent has. I have the six cylinder in my car which makes it smoother and quieter and more fun to drive. Of course you do lose some fuel economy. But it is a great car, nice blend of performance, handling, utility and of course safety. In addition to all the built-in safety features I have Eyesight, blind-spot detection and the other advanced safety features that go along with those. Also, it is great in bad weather and I do feel really safe in the car. Great audio system (Harman Kardon). Great road trip car!

Excellent safety features: Lane assist; adaptive cruise control; steering sensitive headlights; collision avoidance etc. I feel soooooo safe and in total control. Comfort : Heated steering wheel; All heated seats.

It's a known issue. My center display stopped working at 5800 miles. No back-up camera, no maps, no Bluetooth, and no radio/CD. As of 11-15-2018, the radio is back ordered with no known shipping date in sight. If you have one of these cars, take it to the dealer before the radio dies. They an do a download that corrects the problem. If you wait until the radio dies, you're out of luck.

This car has many things going for it. AWD, comfort, practical, quiet ride, safety, room for friends or pets. This is why so many are seen on the road today. I came from an american car background and was looking for my next vehicle. I noticed how many car models severely drop resale value by the 5th year of ownership. Take a look at the Subaru brand. My new Subaru was less expensive for insurance than my previous 5 year old domestic model. lowest cost of ownership is more than a saying. Subaru makes many models with one that will match your needs.

I got the 6 cylinder engine and the car is very responsive and quiet with a great ride. All wheel drive traction is great. The interior is saddle leather and very comfortable.

FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SUBARU OUTBACK AFTER GOING THROUGH A DEMO OF HOW THE SAFETY FEATURES WORK ON THIS VEHICLE. CAN'T WAIT TO TAKE IT UP IN THE MOUNTAINS.

This is my 4th Subaru and by far the best one! The Outback Premium model has plenty of options to make this a very comfortable vehicle. The size is similar to a mid-size SUV. It rides smooth over bumpy roads and has great acceleration. Gas mileage is close to 30 mpg combined city/highway miles. It handles amazing on snowy roads and I feel safe, which is the most important thing in a vehicle. I love this car!
