2020 Subaru Outback consumer reviews

I really liked my Subaru but there were a couple of things that I'm not buying another one because: the cameras went out twice, two different ones. the GPS took forever to get the dealer to straighten out and get working (almost six months before they downloaded the maps etc). (Probably a lame dealership in Pensacola was part of the problem) and we paid extra for leather interior and they put some kind of "leatherette" crap in there that discolored within a year and got little "spots" from the sun all over it and they did nothing about it. Service people were very nice, but they never had enough people working there and one would wait HOURS for work to be done. Also, if your battery goes out (which mine did) the whole car practically shuts down and you must be super careful not to damage the electronics when that happens - it takes a good while to get all of it back up and running properly. I had only 114K miles on it (planned on keeping it until 200K) but too many things were wrong with it. Also, the right wheel hub had problems, too in the first year. I can't remember everything. I was disappointed with the quality of the car for the price. It was right at $32K when we bought it new, in 2014. Just one driver and not a lot of miles over the years so it ended up not being that durable. Otherwise the car was zippy and it was fun to drive, just didn't last as long as I thought it should have with the Subaru reputation. I would recommend this car with reservations.

I have been surprised by all the bells and whistles that come standard on the Subaru! Excellent vehicle...great for helping those of us getting a little older to stay on track!!

The car has been pleasant to own and operate. I find my driver's seat a little uncomfortable on long trips. Maybe I am too fat in the middle, but the seat back is where I find the most uncomfortable. So far no problems other than with the Homelink, but that seems to be a Homelink issue. The infotainment screen can be a challenge and even though large not something to operate safely while driving. I particularly have problems with Apple Carplay. Maybe it is my old Apple iPhone or my poor service from T-Mobile. I lose the music I am playing often due to one of those factors. I took the small engine for gas mileage, but it really underperforms when accelerating especially on hills. Overall a well put together car, but right now I am not sure I would purchase again.

Subaru has gone above and beyond with this vehicle. All electronics you need. Napa leathers, oh yes, not the cheap leathers you find in high priced other vehicles. Reliability and Safety like no other. I have traded about every two years and drove many different brands. This is it for me! You need to check it out. Mine is the Touring model with Wireless Charger, Led Dome Light, etc. very comfortable seats. Rides like a dream.

So far , not even 2 weeks in the car, it is awesome. Not use to all the safety features. But very comfortable. I love the feel of this car when I drive it.

Bought this car 1 month ago. Has been in the shop for over 12 days and looking like at least 2 more days in the shop. The TPMS system in the car is broken and Subaru has yet to figure out what is the issue.

Having owned several Subarus we are not disappointed. The controls and interfaces have been updated since our 2016 and are much more intuitive. We have not even used up our first tank of gas yet, but so far so good. Impressive vehicle.

got the car 3 weeks ago and lastnite the info center went blank, then rebooted after like 10 seconds. Called Subaru America to be told that they have a software problem that neither the owner nor dealer was told. THIS IS SUCH BULL!!! This computer controls all the safety features of the car, which is why i bought it in the first place. I HOPE SUBARU SOLVE THIS ISSUE AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMRS!!!Major disappointment for a beautiful car.

I have owned many vehicles, including Buick, Oldsmobile, GMC, Chevrolet, Ford, Jeep, Volkswagen , Nissan, Opal - cars and pick-ups. But out of all the Subaru has been the best in performance, comfort, safety, handling, etc. Best by far, and the Dealership is wonderful at Baldwyn Motors in Covington, LA.

The Outback has many safety features! The Touring model has more options than I'll use and I am having fun trying them all out. The engine is small so I don't get all the acceleration I want getting up to highway speed but the gas mileage is great.
