GREAT Classic SUV

Everything you want - nothing you don't need. I previously owned a '90 4Runner and the upgrades are really nice (tinted windows, power windows and locks, rear hatch that swings up to act as a rain shield but you can still roll down the back window to access cargo area, 6 cylinders for more power, etc.). And, of course, Toyota reliability.

Toyota is the way to go!

Not once has a Toyota in general ever let me down. My little 4-Runner may have had some age on her but that didn’t slow her down. She outlasted my fiancé’s newer model Chevy trailblazer by thousands of miles!

Best piece of rust ever

Aside from all the rust issues, which are easily remedied if caught soon enough, is a very solid suv/light truck. Gas mileage is not that great honestly, but it will always get from point A to B, as long as you've done even basic maintenance on it. Mine just hit 360k miles with the 3.4L v6, and only issues are from abusing it, and even then it takes a whole lot to break it. For example, popped an axle seal and the diff went dry for about 7k miles before grenading and getting rebuilt, not recommending any one does that, but it sure held up fine for way longer than it should have. She's my daily driver and off-roader, couldn't ask for a better truck.

Daily Driver, 275K Miles

Oustanding quality and reliability, no major maintenance, manufactured in Japan. I have had to replace wear items over the years oil, tires, timing belts, batteries (original Panasonic lasted 10 years), driver seat cover, floor mats, one fuel injector, muffler, no frame or body rust. I did update the radio to Toyota radio from 2011 4Runner ($30 ebay) to connect iPod. The 3.4L V6 and automatic transmission were designed to last and conquer Rocky Mountain highways and roads.

Great reliable car

Never gave us one problem. Very reliable and economical. A bit small for driver and passenger, but plenty of room in the rear seats and trunk
