Knew there would be no dissapointments
Bought my fully loaded 4 runner SR5 with 11,800 miles it's 2005 even has that new car smell still"cool".I have been intrigued with a Toyota 4 runner after owning a TT 94 Supra that i sold recently due to no room for anything but win races i outgrew it.But after 186,000 miles on my 89 Astro it finally let go my second car,now I need a car or truck to get to work.So I went to Kendall Toyota and fell in love with this 4 Runner that had just got turned in and i knew this one was for me when i saw it had everything I liked and in excellent condition and very low miles and the rest is history.Have been happy since love looking at it heck i even feel like a kid again. This is the reason Toyota is on top of their game.My wife Has leased Audi's for 8 years she drove the 4 Runner even she wants to drive my 4 Runner and give me here 05 Audi A4.No way get your own i say well it will be hers when her Audi lease is up and i will get a newer 4 Runner again .Test drive you will be impressed with no dissapointments .True story I'm a Toyota owner again.I'm Back and lovin it.QTRD lives.

User Unfriendly
We bought the 4 Runner for 1 reason, the Grand Cherokee didn't have enough headroom for me. Oh well, I lose. The 4 Runner is my wife's and to my surprise after purchase I found that the passenger's seat is non adjustable vertically and I don't fit unless the seat is angled back. I'm not that big, only 6'1" but the seat is fixed alot higher than the low position on the driver's side. I guess that the primary driver of a vehicle can get used to about anything but since I only drive it ocassionally it's a mystery to find many controls. I had to stop, get out of the vehicle and lean in to find the cruise control. I had to as my wife where the emergency flasher were (to check the trailer lighting). It's common to drive off a lighted parking lot without headlights since the dash is illuminated when the headlights aren't on. The dimmer is on the dash and the headlight switch is on the steering column. The heat and airconditioning controls are mounted so low that it's a safety concern losing sight of the road when adjusting. There is a switch for the rear window on the dash but trying to find one in the rear took days, it's built into the lock mechanism. There is no lockset on the passenger's side so since I only have a spare key w/o a fob, it was a real mystery trying to get into the passenger's side in the dark. Gas mileage is average, but factoring in the cost of premium fuel the economy is poor. Really bad when towing. My trailer is only 4000 lbs, but on mostly level road I couldn't get up to 9 mpg. From what I've heard this vehicle should last, but my wife will be putting all the miles on it. The 4 Runner is definitely not user friendly to the ocassional driver.

Only Toyota for now on
I have had this vehicle for 10 months and absolutely love it... The 4 wheel drive is the most powerful I have come across in mud, snow, and water, tows my boats great, and comes with awesome handling, I had to give it a little less rating for the stereo being so large with a cassette tape deck... Do people still use cassettes? I was lucky enough to still have a few from college in the 90's to try and see if it really worked.... Overall I could not be happier and will not buy another brand of vehicle again....

In a league of its own
The Toyota 4Runner, with its sleek styling and strong curb appeal is a wonderful investment for the money. The strong 4.0L V6 has plenty of power and great acceleration. The unique controls on the interior continue the overall modern look and increase functionality over traditional panels. The seats could use some work as far as comfort goes, but the ride is incredible (for an SUV) with acceptable off-road handling, even on the 2wd I own. The automatic limited slip works well if need be. Great vehicle. Roomy. Classy. Strong. Versatile.

Owner
Rides like a luxury car, very smooth. Has excellent sight lines. Everything is in view. Corners nicely, very tight, probably the best in it's class. The V6 engine responds like a V8, very strong. lots of space. Plenty of room for 5 adults without the rear seats. Toyotas never break down, so reliability is excellent.
