A Truly Great All-Round Performer

My car just rolled over t0 203,000 miles. I bought this Toyota (US made in Kentucky) as a new car in Virginia and it has been driven all over the US and Europe, too. As a basic DX model, it came with just the features I wanted (pwr doors/windows, AC, AM-FM, rear defroster, front discs, etc.). Always started, never left me stranded. Like other reviewers, I still get 30+ mpg (slightly less in winter). Recommend Yokohama Avid Touring tires. Repair parts are plentiful from non-dealer stores. Wish they still made a car like this, without a lot of frills that I will never use.

I've owned 3 Toyota's before this one.

This is my next to last vehicle purchase, and it will be another 4Runner. Excellent SUV. Toyota #1

Great Value

I've done a ton of research before looking at this car. To get this vehicle around 30k is a absolute steal. Very reliable, solid performance, roomy interior.... I've owned a Jeep Cherokee the past 13 years and I paid about 20k for it way back then... Don't get me wrong, the Jeep 6cyl is as reliable as they come and it's great in the snow, but it feels like you're driving a car in the 4 Runner. Those of you who have owned a Jeep know what I'm talking about, it's like riding a go cart with no shocks. The only complaint I have with the 4 Runner is the MPG, you'd think Toyota would have it up around 20city 24HW by now.

I love this car!

I have the UrbanRunner 4x4 Sport Edition and it is by far the best SUV on the market hands down! It look similar to the standard Sports Edition model, but it has some great things that make it stand out. The running boards and roofrack are a smoke black and the interior is totally unique. It has both leather and micro-suede seats which are very comfortable and a one-of-a-kind Nav system using a removable Tom-Tom Nav screen. I high recommend this vehicle to anymore that wants a mid-side SUV.

Best and most practical car to own!

I've had 6 toyota/Lexus cars and two of the 4Runners. The 2003 facelift was solid by Toyota. They replaced the faulty front cup holders that shook too much and blocked dashboard airflow. The storage has been widened in the back. The V8 is very peppy and yet economical. Lastly, the chassis change was smart going from my 98' lmtd to the 03' Lmtd. I ran my first 4Runner to 150k w/o any problems.

best 30k i've ever spent

We own a 2004 sport edition 4runner. At 40k we replced the tires which were not the greatest to begin w/. We just put new brakes all the way around it AT 80K!!(and the back ones were fine, i just figured 80k is a lot of miles lets change them.) This cost about $750 WHICH I REALLY CANT COPLAIN. The brakes and a heat sheild on the exhaust are the only problems I've had in almost five years! I'll take that to the bank. If you are looking for a great suv this is probably the cheapest vehicle to own available to you. And it's really nice. Buy one I'm gonna buy another and give this to my kid! This truck is amazing in the snow as well. We get a lot of snow where we live and I feel a lot better knowing that my kids are in this truck. My pickup truck (4x4) is nowhere near as capable in snow or even mud for that matter. I swear this thing will climb trees!!!!!!!

very happy

The 4runner is timeless. I did alot of research before purchase. Other vehicles offer more gadgets, but so does the limited. I am confident it will outlast others. I love driving it and the seats are very comfortable.

Comfortable, nice handling SUV

This car is a pleasure to drive and is very comfortable, especially for long hauls. We recently took a long family trip through the mountains, and it handled all conditions great and had good acceleration and control through the climbs and descents. Fuel consumption is OK for an SUV -- not great but not a huge hog.

reliable car

needs to meet modern technology and efficiency otherwise there are no cars like this for the money you pay for it. Yuo may pay a little more for gas. but it is safe from all prospectives. I would like to see the third row added to this model
