Like it so far

This car meets all my needs. The ride is comfortable for a four wheel drive. The size meet my large frame very well. I look forward to many years of safe and enjoyable driving.

4 Runner, Reliable, indestructible, retro tech

The 4 runner is not for everybody, but here is what it is and isn't. It is: Ultimately reliable, excellent resale value, amazing off-road, with the low gear range 4WD. It is reasonably comfortable to ride in, but it is a body on frame truck, not a cushy SUV. It still has a CD player. It is fairly quiet, but again, there are lots of things quieter. Great AC and sound system. None of the new autopilot systems yet that are so common on even the Camry and other makes, the 4 runner is retro on the technology. You will have to step UP into this thing, it has plenty of ground clearance. It tows well, gas mileage suffers. If you want/need a vehicle that is a good combination of off-road capability, with ability to haul an occasional sheet of plywood and lumber. This is it. It is comfortable for 4 on a trip, 5 in town. But it is old style, not a car/SUV. We love ours!

Toyota is the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Love the reliability, roominess, and the fact it sits so high I can see far ahead. Loved it enough that I am a repeat Toyota owner.

Best value for a Midsize SUV

Lots of interior space. I opted for no third row seat for the extra cargo room. Great towing capacity and off road ability. This is my 5th Toyota. No regrets.

Most reliable

Great family car! Plenty of room in the from middle and back, great for road trips, especially off roading. This is a perfect car for everyday commuting vehicle.

Toyota's 4Runner equals dependable value

I knew exactly what I wanted my next vehicle to be. A Toyota 4Runner. I had priced new ones, and essentially knew what features I wanted, and those I did not want. I am a diehard Toyota owner. I still have my 2015 Prius, which is my primary commuter; I mean 55 mpg, y'know? So on a car-finder site, I located a gem: a 2018 4Runner with just over 10,000 miles on it! The asking price was around ten thousand less than sticker. Because it did not have all the features I wanted and the fact that the trip to/from the dealership would be a full day's trip, I was able to negotiate the price over three thousand less than asking price! The interior comfort is prime and it holds the road like a winner. This vehicle should last me a long, long time, and should I decide to update at some later date, the fact that the 4Runner is one of those vehicles that holds its value best ain't something to sneeze at. I am plumb tickled with my new purchase!

Most reliable and comfortable car I’ve owned

Its fun and sporty but also rugged enough to withstand anything. Ive never felt safer in a car, wish i would have bought one ages ago.

Purchased new, waited to do a 10k mile review

Purchased TRD Off Road Premium....I initially wasn't overly impressed with the numb somewhat floaty streering on the test drive but replacing the factory spec tires with high quality all terrians (I chose k02s) solved this entirely...vehicle now handles 100x better, is actually fun now and confidence inspiring to drive. This is my second 4Runner, it has a much more truck like character than the previous generation which was very refined to drive when equipped with the now discontinued v8. This 5th gen is a FUN old school SUV if you like trucks and need/want the offroad ability. Much improved appearance over the previous generation while retaining all the utility. One of the most proven and reliable powertrains still available today. I love that it isn't loaded with gimmicky stuff, the really well thought out interior makes for no nonsense operation. My only gripe is the navigation system begs for considerable improvement...the average smart phone will do a better job and pose much less of a hassle. Other than that it's an all around great vehicle for anyone wanting a midsized body on frame SUV that will stand up to the test of time. Wouldn't hesitate to drive my '07 cross country tomorrow and expect this newer one to prove just as unbelievably reliable due to the very limited changes between the generations. Highly recommend.
