2012 Camry is a 5 star vehicle with only 1 flaw

The only flaw is the 2012 XLE Camry not including a 6 CD changer as a standard item in the dash board. The single CD player is a bit cheap for the XLE model.

pat

only thing do not like is that was not aware that can not open doors/truck without key....to open trunk, I have to open car first. Other than that, rate 5 star

Great Car to Buy

I purchase a 2012 Camry and I am enjoying the car. There is so much different in the style, body and speed than the older model Camry that I was driving. The features on the car are bright and can be seen in the dark. The noise level is not bad when driving fast. The sound system for the radio is awesome, very shap and clear.I purchase this car for my retirement car and I am please with it.

Camry...my choice for my Wife's use.

Complicated guidance system; steep learning curve with complex instructions that are disjointed references that cause flipping backing forth many pages. I have used Garmin which I prefer. Excellent Audio/Sound system with many sources Not a luxury ride which could be improved. Nevertheless, it is the vehicle of my choice.

Best value in mid size sedan!

The 12 camry is not direct injected, nor is it turbo charged, nor does it have a CVT tranny! These are long term reliability issues and will require more $ spent on service! The new model has a more aerodynamic body than a 10 year old vette or 911 porche and is roomy, quiet, safe and more upscale this year! You can find an SE 2.5 (recommend) for $22,000 which includes a power seat before tax and lic only and that's a bargain! Compact car mpg and close to 200hp at that price is the best buy easy in the class! The accord seems like a fine car, but is direct injected with a cvt (read forums) and all now llok and drive exc-it's just the engine/drivetrain difference-camry takes the traditional approach! Cheap to insure and exc re-sale! No brainer folks where I come from for best value commuter! Picky Engineer

Great car

I love this car, but I am disappointed in the Entune Navagation system. I got the optional navagation system expecting a state of the art system. WRONG! The mapping updates are far behind, and the car is 13 months old. Checking on an update I found it was not free. I wanted the update to show a new portion of interstate that opened 1 year ago, it still does not show that on the system. Contacted Toyota several times asking about updates, but was told next year ,still not current. On the other hand very comfortable , fantastic fuel milage. I would have given it 5 stars on everything if it was not for the navagation system. Buy the car , but buy an aftermarket navagation system. I have an aftermarket Nav. system that was updated with the afore mentioned new interstate portion 1 month after it opened.

Stalling at exceleration

I bought my 2012 toyota camry le feb of 2012. I loved the car at first and was so happy that I decided on this car. I had a 2005 solara previous to this purchase and never had 1 problem with it. I have had this car back at fort myers toyota twice for the same issue and it still doesnt work. I obviously need my care for a daily basis and can not keep it there. Of course everytime I take it to the dealership it doesnt do the stopping or stalling that it does to me. When accelerating the car feels like it stalls and wont move. This issue needs to be resolved since it is a very big safety hazard. They did an update on the computer the last time I went there and the problem got worse. I am actually going to a different dealership this afternoon to get rid of my car, I will never buy another toyota!

Very POOR Acceleration

Toyota for 2012, did away with the standard cable/spring connection to the accelerator. It was replaced by a computer .That was a BIG mistake. There is now a delay from accelerator depression to a response., which can take anywhere from 3-8 seconds after braking before the car speeds up. That is ridiculous, and just long enough, for someone to slam into the back of you. No one has time on an expressway, for a computer to decide to accelerate..! Has ANYONE else experienced this obvious safety hazard?
