Have driven a Camry for 24 yrs.
Traded in my 2-door ‘’96 Camry for a 2018 Camry last yr. It’s reliable, has everything I need, comfortable, gets great mileage. Looks good, drives beautifully. Would recommend one for anyone looking for a fair price and easy driving. Can’t say enough about this particular model.

Infotainment System Ruins This Vehicle
I purchased a 2018 XLE V6. The car itself drives nice. The infotainment system in the car makes me wish I would never have purchased this car. It is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Scout GPS is almost unusable. It drops connection and hangs constantly. The lack of android auto ruins this cars. I am using a Note 9. I had to switch to using android auto on my phone and uninstall scout. A 1995 Garmin would function better than scout. Another issue I have with this car is the remote start feature. You can remotely start the car but as soon as you unlock the car to get in it, it shuts off. What's the point? I've driven other vehicles that do not do this. Toyota says it's a safety feature so nobody can steal the vehicle. THE DOORS ARE LOCKED!!! You cant even remote start if the car isn't secured. Run from this vehicle if you want up to date technology.

Great
All around great value! Sporty and comfortable. Good gas mileage! I like the technology, especially the radar controlled cruise control. I can't believe I paid the same for this 2019 Camry as I did a Maxima in 1995!

First Toyota...not impressed
I have only ever driven American brands, this is my first foreign make. The good is the gas mileage, I can usually end a tank of combined highway/city at above 36 mpg, a satisfactory number. Another good is the styling, I don't understand all of the hate for the mesh front ends that Toyota/Lexus is currently using, I love this design. Now the bad...Toyota entune, sweet Jesus this is awful, terrible, just stop it. My last vehicle was a '16 F-150 with Sync 3.0, light years ahead of entune. First off, no Apple carplay (boo, huge disappointment), the USB connection to my phone (for navigation purposes) is very unreliable, the connection will be lost often midway to my destination. The radio does not stay on after you turn the car off, this is a huge deal. My 2002 Pontiac Grand Am, my 2002 Silverado, my 2013 Ford Focus, and my 2016 F-150 have all kept the radio on after keys have been removed until the driver door is opened. The fact that my 2018 Camry doesn't do this is mind blowing. Another bad...the transmission, first off, I hate the 8 speed setup, it is constantly wanting to downshift, it is pretty much impossible to cruise in 8th gear at above 60 MPH, unless you are going downhill. I have had this car about 9 months now and have only used cruise control MAYBE 5 times because it drives me crazy how often the car wants to shift gears, I can control this more if I have control of the gas. The transmission can also be very jerky. While accelerating up a hill, for whatever reason, the car will randomly jerk like a very rough shift...except the car isn't changing gears at this point. Toyota is supposed to be king of reliability, I'm not so sure after my experience, I have a feeling this is going to be a short lived relationship. I've also been reading how Honda is becoming less and less reliable, are we witnessing Japanese vehicles being dethroned as the most reliable brands? Perhaps South Korean manufacturers Kia and Hyundai are the future. Planning on keeping this vehicle until just before the powertrain warranty runs out, so I'll probably have it for about 4 more years, but given the jerky nature of the transmission, I don't have the confidence in this vehicle to keep it outside of the warranty period. So sad, really wanted to be a Toyota fan.

Transmission trouble
The 8 speed transmission has a problem shifting. Toyota does nothing to help. If you search the web you will find that a lot of people have this problem.

excellent value, style, and comfort
Great purchase. Got a new grad discount as well. Excellent fuel economy. Stylish and sporty features. Comfortable seating. Bluetooth capabilities are good. Air pressure in each tire can be monitored on the driver screen. Very reliable. I’ve always trusted Toyota and grew up as a passenger in many of them. Now I own one and love it.

Rural American Buyer
I live on a farm/ranch and commute to work driving gravel roads part of the way. I wanted a vehicle that would be reliable and provide good gas mileage during good weather conditions. I purchased this car less than a week ago and the back under carriage is already broke due to 110 miles of driving gravel. I have driven many other cars on gravel and never experienced such a quick “break” in less than a week with a new vehicle.

Most expensive piece of garbage ever.
I hate this car. The only thing it has going for it is it looks better than the old Camry and it has better gas mileage than my previous car. There is nothing sporty about it, so the XSE is pointless in a 4 cylinder. Quite amazed that Toyota's flagship car is so expensive ($33000), yet still has the loud, outdated, non-turbo 4 cyl, basic radio with nothing than AM/FM without having a phone hooked up, no Sirius, no nav, no remote start, paper thin tires (already had a blowout), and an expensive sunroof that opens a whole 7 inches! WOW! And then there's the transmission... I've driven CVT's that have better control. No acceleration, can literally count "one Mississippi's " before it decides if it should downshift or stay where it's at. Warning... curved highway entrance ramps are not your friend. If you decide to make this horrible mistake, make sure you pony up for the JBL and GAP... this pile is ridiculously loud, especially on the highway. And with nice, hollow tin can sound you get when you close a door, I'm pretty sure any collision will total this plastic and beer can crap box and you will be upside down. Get an insurance quote before buying, as well. Costs as much to insure as a $75000 Corvette. If you are still drinking Toyota's Kool-Aid and have to have one, save yourself a bunch of money and buy a used LE or SE for $15000. It's the only way this econo garbage can makes any sense.
