Found the perfect Camry

Worked with Ben today and couldn’t be happier with service we received. Great guy easy to work with. Will recommend to friends and family. Keep up the great work.

We have had the car for 6 months and we love it.

We picked out the color and our salesman helped us find the right car with the right options for our budget. We drove the Camry to Mooresville from Morganton and back home. We got 41.3 mpg for the trip. We couldn't be happier with it. We used to own buicks, but not any more.

Skip the 4-Cylinder and opt for the V6

My subdivision exits into a very busy roadway. Cars must accelerate quickly from a full stop to take advantage of small opportunities and for basic safety. Slow cars will be stuck waiting for a suitable opening to materialize, often several minutes. The entrance/exit of my local Toyota dealer is a close approximation and perfect place to test if a car can zip into traffic with at least a moderate level of acceleration. If the car is too slow, I simply end the test drive right then and there. Spent an entire afternoon testing 4-cylinder Camrys. The L, LE, SE, and stock XSE models all hesitated from a full stop and took too long turning into the intersection. Horsepower (and loud unrefined engine noise) kicks in after the engine revs up to about 3K RPM. It takes a scary long time to feel the horses after making the decision to jump into traffic. I've owned two previous Camrys ('09, and '13, both with standard 4-cylinder engines) and had no problem passing this basic acceleration test. It was a shock that a brand new '19, including the 4-cylinder XSE, failed miserably. The only redeeming thing about the 4-cylinder engine is superb MPG rating. After about an hour of test drives, salesperson brought out a two-tone silver XSE with 6 cylinder engine. At first, I was struck by how cool it looked. Inside, it was elegant and comfortable. The double sun-roof was impressive, although it dropped the ceiling a bit close to the top of my head. I'm an average sized man (5' 11"), so a taller person should really test the interior first. Acceleration from the V-6 was perfect from a standing stop, both into turns and straight ahead. Engine was quiet and smooth throughout, never feeling overburdened. You really feel the torque in the low end, especially when passing at highway speeds. The cabin is quiet inside and all seats are comfortable. The only odd thing about the cabin was loudness of the air conditioner at full blast. It's hot this summer and that sucker is always on max. The fan noise doesn't bother me at all, but it creates havok for the voice-activated features (Siri, Alexa, Entune). They all had problems understanding my voice commands while the air conditioner was doing its thing. My older Camry with Entune had a noisier interior but apparently with better noise filters as it always understood me. Of the three modes, I drive mostly in ECO. I get about 26 MPG driving mostly city traffic. Instant highway gets up into the mid 30's. Apple Play is great, but it only works when the USB plug is connected. The car came with three complementary Apple Lightning/USB plugs, which was nice. I have an iPhone and it rests nicely in the wireless inductive charge pad. Note: Apple play doesn't work while connected via Bluetooth. You have to use Toyota EnTune when connected via Bluetooth regardless of phone type. Also, you don't get a real GPS system - you have to install an app on your smart phone and connect via Bluetooth to get a functional GPS. The car comes with a built in Wi-Fi access point that uses Verizon cell service. You get a 90-day/2 GB complementary data plan for the Wi-Fi access point. My son loves it. He plays his Nintendo DS in the car and has Internet access through the car. The V6 ballooned the cost of the car to over $34K, infringing on Toyota Avalon territory. For comparison, I also test drove a '19 Avalon XLE, but it wasn't as fast and didn't look as cool. It felt a bit dated. Also test drove a '19 Avalon Touring Edition which was very niiiice. Would have bought the Avalon Touring but it was well above $45K. Sorry, love Toyotas but not spending $45K for a sedan unless there is a luxury-brand badge on it. The two-tone XSE models look super sharp compared to every other Camry. The white/black exterior was my favorite but it only comes with a gaudy red interior. My wife called it xxxx-Suit Red. I opted for silver/black exterior with a nice gray/black leather interior, 19" rims and low-profile tires. Tires are sharp looking but I fear they will cost a pretty penny when it comes time to replace them. Was the V6 worth the almost $10K more it takes to get there? For me, yes it does. Sure, I'm driving a $34K+ Camry, but the car is beautiful, comfortable, fast, and reliable. It's a stealth rocket that doesn't back down in traffic when driving aggressively, and is pleasant to drive to the grocery store or on long road trips.

Every thing about the car is excellent. It rides good and impressed with all the extras. I just wish it would have come with a GPS.

BAD SEAT DESIGN

Back seats are infuriatingly uncomfortable for passengers. Forces your back to be concave and the headrests Feel like they’re made by someone that’s never sat in a seat. They force your head forward compared to your body. Genuinely amazed these non-ergonomic seats passed initial design phases

My First “I want that one” Car

I walked past my new Camry and had to have it. It looks sporty, yet roomy, and the interior is very well designed. I am very short and I could adjust my seat and did not feel like the car was too big for me. It drives so smoothly as well and I like the Safesense system.
