Honda Eater
You know you always hear about the Civic SI of the same generation, and about how Honda in that time was the car to have due to the upgrade, and tuner community.. This is true, but the ultimate sleeper was the 98-02 corolla... These cars in VVTI trim had 125hp, and weighed less than the comparable civic, they also made more torque, and with a 5 speed would stay with a B16a2 civic SI from the same generation all day long.. This car was purchased new by me, when i was 18, it was my first new car.. It later turned into my track day car, and took a different form, but when it was a daily driver it was excellent on fuel, never broke, constantly driven hard, and ultimately was a dependable car.. Once I purchased a new car, i ended up taking this off the road, pulling the engine, and swapping a 2zzge out of a celica GTS, and a 6speed manual.. The car was then gutted, down to two racing seats and a "performance" can exhaust, Honda GSR wheels were added, and a full suspension kit.. at which point the car was an absolute animal to drive.. These cars are Very cheap today, and being that before the Racecar transformation the car went 413K miles without needing anything, and then did another 50K miles on the new modifications before i sold it, with no rust, no rattles, no issues at all.. it was a fantastic.. amazing car.. It is highly recommended for whatever you want it to do.

Currently own this vehicle as a student
I have a job that takes a lot of driving because it is farther away and all that has went wrong with 173,000 on it is I had to replace the starter, the wind shield fluid line blew I use up a lot of tail lights and head lights because of the running lights I now have a oil leak and I have a feeling its's my fault because I think I put the oil filter on to tight I haven't looked under it to see and my vent system is stopped up and my brakes need replacing..... the point is all these things are happening and the car refuses to stop the last owner didn't take good care of it so this is why all this is happening so yes I love my car it's indestructible

fast lil realiabul car.
i love this car . i thought since it was a 99 it would be slow break down easy and had no really good features. i was wrong. the radio is great. it has daytime running lights. usually takes off faster than mostly all cars because of the engine and the carts size to horsepower. i have bad front tires and this car stil does great i just got this car. when i get to more new tires in the front this car will zoom away!

This car lasts forever!
My family has owned two Corollas: The first one we sold (Only because we thought we didn't need it). The second one got totaled in an accident. I think those were a '97 and '98. We now own a '99. It has almost 150,000 miles and it's still going strong.

AMAZING CAR!!
My parents purchased my 99 Corolla 11 years ago with around 40,000 miles. It is still going very strong and has barely had any major work at all. Nothing over $300. I currently have 235,000 miles on it. The only issues are the door handles breaking or coming off, which is very inexpensive to fix. I can fill up the tank with $20. Probably the best car EVER! There's no stopping it!!
