Great All Round Car

My wife brought this car new and we have driven it for about 14 years and 186K miles. Other than routine maintenance, the only failure was a bad front wheel bearing. Without a doubt the most reliable car we've ever owned, plus it has reasonable performance, comfort and fuel mileage. All around its been a great little car.

It was the most reliable car I owned.

Good gas mileage and reliable brand. It was the most reliable car I EVER owned until engine issue. Would replace that if had more time; still may if it doesn't sell. Will miss that car.

Lola the Corolla

I loved my Corolla it lasted for 10 years and got taken out by an accident. Very low maintenance, extremely cute. The drawback was the inside was basic, no automatic windows or locks but I managed.

Good car until the rainwater leak...

Bought my 2003 Toyota Corolla S new in March 2002. For 15 years it's been a great car except for the following 4 issues: 1 - the left footrest for the driver is slightly too narrow for my average-sized foot. Needs to be about 1.5 inches wider. 2 - The air conditioning quit once while on the road during a long trip. No maintenance done, never happened again. 3 - At about 45000 miles the rear wheel bearings started causing excessive road noise, necessitating replacement long before they should have. 4 - My Corolla has a moonroof. About 2 years ago rain water started to drip out from the central control cluster on the roof of the cabin. This would only happen after a hard rain and when I drove the car over uneven surfaces, making the water splosh around inside until it dripped out between the buttons. A few months later I noticed water also dripping out of the driver and passenger A pillars through the normal split separating the plastic and soft material. One day when it was raining particularly hard and my car was parked outside the headlights starting flashing on and off. I had to disconnect the battery for fear it would drain. I took the car to the local Toyota dealership and they replaced the moonroof seal. The next time it rained water still leaked into the cabin from the same places. I took the car to the dealership again explaining the problem. They were unable to replicate the leak so they said there was nothing they could do. Perhaps I should have told them it doesn't leak if the car's sitting still. I've tried to personally find the cause of the leak but can find nothing. I don't understand how rainwater is getting into the roof. Everything looks fine but I'm no car technician. Thankfully rain hasn't caused the headlight problem again...yet. I would only recommend this car without a moonroof.
