Great Little Car for the Price

Love the car. Only pitfall is the stereo system (bass is hard to set correctly). It is quite peppy and fun to drive in the city. Have now driven it on snowy and icy roads, and it has proven to be quite capable of handling the elements.

I love my Corolla!!

I love driving my Corolla so much! For being a small car I can fit a ton in it. It is also very quite, people have asked me if I have turned my car on just before leaving a parking space.

Questions not answered???

Great car but needed service right after pick up. Car was out of alignment. Don't the dealerships check? Everytime I turn the wheel after just starting the car it makes a clicking sound. Dealer says it is just the calibers on the brake pads and it is nothing to worry about. At $16,250 it is something to worry about. All they seem to care is about the sale and not the service.

Not so great

The only reason i said i would not recommend this car to friend is because i would recommend several other cars. The Corolla has some not so comfortable seats (but better then the sentra). The arm wrest in fron feels extreamly cheap. There is just a piece of clothe lying on top of the plastic armwrest. I do like the fake wood look on the inside so i gave interior styling a 3 (which is pretty good... The other people are much too generous .. maybe trying to convince themselves they made the right decision). The steering wheel obviously is supposed to fit you like a glove. I think that must be their mentality because its made with reasonably hard plastics that are uncomfortable if you don't hold your hands where they want you too. Reasonably dull stereo system. Can't play MP3's and isn't HD or XM/Sirius radio ready like many of their competitors out of the box. The ride was not horrible but i feel as though the suspension is a bit stiff. Each bump i felt but it was tolerable. ABS isn't standard but isn't a very expensive add-on. Safety should never be an option. Again Curtain airbags are optional as well. Pleanty of Horsepower to get yourself where you want to go without going bankrupt with gas prices. All in all not a horrible car. But to me. I'd like to be spoiled a bit more for 15 or 16 thousand dollars out of my pocket. But if you did get one and don't like it they have great resale value so thats another plus. Suggestions: Hyundai Elantra. Mazda 3 (seats uncomfortable but the rest is enjoyable). VW Jetta (more expensive but refined).

Replaced '96 Corolla with 390Kmiles

I put 35-40Kmiles/year on car. '96 was daily commuter until trade in. Had original fuel filter and timing belt in it at trade. Can't beat the Corolla!! Only repairs over 9 years = starter, alternator, front wheel bearing. Other than that, put in gas and oil and drove it. When it came to decide on replacement, Corolla was a "no-brainer". 36mph around the same for the '07LE. The new one is a lot smoother ride. Lots of pep for a 1.8L. Engine noise not overwhelming. Road noise level acceptable. Big trunk. Lots of room in the back. Sound system OK. 6 CD nice. Tilt wheel would be better if it tilted more. Telescoping would help, too. Otherwise a totally great choice. Maybe I'll trade this one in 10 years, or so.

Fantastically Fantastic

The car handles like a dream. The interior is not as low quality as other Corolla models (CE, for instance) and adding the wood-trim to the interior makes it feel more luxurious. The side mirrors are large, which enables the driver to have a much smaller blind spot. The back seats fold down by accessing a switch in the trunk, and itcomes with a valet key, so if you leave the car with a valet service, you can leave your valuables in the trunk, and no one would be able to access them.

Great Commuter

I have the CE version and this is a very nice car with legendary Toyota reliability. The interior is mature and conservative without being overdone. It's roomy for folks 5'10" or less though. The cloth interior is classic with a comfortable feel. The CE, being the base model, is rather well equiped with tachometer, AC, Daytime Running Lights with night sensor, outside temp gauge, passenger-side airbag, and a CD player radio with 4 speakers that actually sounds good. The lack of power windows doesn't matter to me, but not having power door locks is a bummer though. Try to add them in with an alarm system, and you'll find that not many places have figured out the cable/rod mechanism on the 07 to install the lock actuator. The exterior styling is classic and graceful with cool chrome accents and badging. Engine is adequate for everyday use with bonus points for fuel economy. CE has the same engine, 1.8 VVT-i 4-cyl, as the LE and S models. I'm getting 38 mpg, mixed driving. This may be because of the smaller stock 185/65/15 tires (and driving habits). Upgraded tires are 195/65/15 which are 10 mm wider. Freeway entrance acceleration is ok. Passing acceleration is decent. It isn't a rocket though, but I haven't even rev'd it enough to kick in the vvt-i (again, driving habits). It handles and maneuvers precisely and rides rather smoothly at high speed (70+) for a small car. I really love it.

How come I waited so long to buy a Toyota?

This car is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned! From the solid thunk of the doors closing, to the smart driving response in the city and country, this car rules! I am not tall and this car fits my 5'10 frame perfectly. It is very comfortable. The 6 CD player is of high quality and the radio sounds great through the 6 speakers. I just don't know why I waited 64 years to own one!
