2009 Toyota Corolla consumer reviews

I bought a Corolla through Gene Messer Toyota and I still have it. I now drive a 4Runner that I bought at another Toyota dealer in Plainview. The only reason I went back was to service my 4Runner since my old Toyota place closed.

Super reliable. Mileage is great, I once got 42mpg highway on a long roadtrip, and also sometimes get 21mpg in the city, so it really depends on how you drive. I have noticed when turning at a high speed when going up an on-ramp to get on an interstate, The center of gravity is a bit off. Turning the car does make it feel like it is in danger of lifting off the ground on to one side that you are turning towards. Great value, and a SIMPLE car. Corolla does all she needs to and she does it well!

It has great trunk space and space all around, it has awesome storage but I do not recommend to anyone. Bought from a dealer and within days of owning it I was replacing the battery, belt and brakes, it always has a new noise and mine is fairly hard on gas.

Aweosome, super reliable car! over 210,000 miles and it's still going strong! Gave me no trouble the whole time of ownership. You wont regret owning one!

Purchased a 09 Corolla Xrs used at 91k miles on the dial and have owned it for exactly two years now. It is at 142k and those years have been filled with nothing but successful commutes. This isn't my first Corolla, so I pretty much knew what to expect going in; one of the most reliable and economical vehicles on the road. If you keep up with the maintenance like you should, you too should have little trouble justifying your ownership of this simplistic yet financially sound vehicle. Enough about that. Let's get to the details. Comfort: If you leave your luxury items aside, the car is quite good. There is ample space for both front and rear passengers, and the drivers positioning comes with adjustable seats and steering wheel. Not the best, but far from the worst. Interior Design: Personally, I like the styling of the dashboard on this model more than the newer Corollas. The car is very simplistic and that is a nod to the engineers/designers. Nothing complicated about it's functionality. Performance: The only reason this isn't Excellent is because while the more sporty 2.4L Xrs is a good performer, it lacks any real punch when compared to anything with real horsepower. I own the 5-speed manual and it is an absolute ease to drive. Handling is solid, suspension is good and FWD means you aren't going to be drifting around corners. Value for the Money: This is my third Corolla and my fourth Toyota. Corollas in particular have been an exceptional purchase when it comes to value. I've never paid more than $10k for a Corolla and they have only needed $$$$ when I've not been smart with my vehicle. Otherwise, all these things need is standard maintenance [tires/brakes/fluid changes/gas]. Anything else, and you might just be living in a harsh environment. Exterior Styling: I prefer the exterior styling very much like I do the interior of this model Corolla. Newer Corollas seem to be looking longer and having table top-like dash boards, whereas this generation had more of a slope dash and edgy line exterior. This particular body really stands out when in blue or orange. Reliability: I've run up 50k miles on this Corolla in two years and have only had to mind standard maintenance items and fluids. Nothing else. No failed or even faulty components. This spells Excellent reliability to me.

Both rear hubs needed to be replaced twice. Engine is shot at 147k miles, with regular maintenance performed. Bumpers and plastic ground effect trim easily breaks and falls apart.

As far as vehicles I've owned I must say that my 2009 Toyota Corolla is by far my favorite it is great on gas mileage comfortable and a great ride

Corolla! This car is an extremely fun and reliable daily driver. It started out as a simple Corolla LE but with the mods driving comes to life!

Amazing value for the money. Cute little car, comfortable enough in spite of my fibromyalgia and arthritis. But the assisted cruise control, lane correction and light dimming make it a dream to drive.

The can as VT engine, which most people do not prefer. Our mechanic suggest that its hard to fix. But, overall its good choice. I would like to buy in future.
