Much better mileage than expected

If you drive prudently, mileage is way better than expected. I am averaging 27-29 with city driving but using the engine off option at all traffic lights. I try to have any rabbit starts. The fit and finish of this car is typical Toyota quality, just like my past 6 Toyota. I purchased this after trading a Rav 4 so I could transport more people. It works!

Great for Most People who want an SUV

This is my second HIghlander replacing a ten year old vehicle which was still running great and no problems. The vehicle rates well as a comfortable, reliable SUV and comes a number of safety features depending on the trim level, mine is the XLE. I thought I would point out a few negatives that may impact your buying decision. I would buy this vehicle again. Cons: - The entertainment system. Toyota does not have Android or Apple play, instead they have their useless Entune system. This is baffling and if you really need Aor A play, look elsewhere. Controls are too far from the driver and you must use the steering wheel to control the radio. Hopefully in the future, Toyota will perform a software download and add these features. The navigation system is lousy and you will want to use Google Maps or Waze on your phone. The voice command system is hit or miss, mostly miss. -Safety features. The rear cross traffic warning can sense a car coming from the side. It CANNOT sense pedestrians behind you or even a car directly behind you. I have no clue if the emergency braking works and if the system will sense a pedestrian or bicycle in front of you but I would not count on it. Even with these limitations, I would not buy another SUV or any car with the cross traffic alert and rear camera. Ergonomic driver problem - There is no place to rest your right arm and this is a problem on long trips. This is a surprising screw up. Other than that, very comfortable. I notice a huge difference in Toyota seats - the leather seats are much better and more supportive than the cloth seats which knocks you up to a higher trim level. We rejected the Rav 4 on the grounds of basic comfort. Extra warranty - if buying new, check with your auto insurance company to see if they offer a "mechanical breakdown policy" as they word it. I have Geico and it is dirt cheap. I never had to use it on my old Highlander!

most efficent, function, reliable SUV

most practical sub for family. built with high quality interior, nice design, and toyota reliability. all-wheel drive v6 has excellent performance with good fuel efficiency (hybrid - most efficient in its class). atkinson cycle v6 has both efficiency and power (although this v6 is not true atkin). overall -excellent drive train!

Excellent vehicle

Very comfortable and easy to drive, especially on trips. Lots of nice storage places. Wish the gearing was a little more aggressive - can seem sluggish unless you really push the accelerator.

Needs improvement camera &tailgate “2018 Highlande

Back up camera shows top of tag. I was told at the dealership they all do. They can’t adjust it😱even took my husband on the showroom floor to show him that the 2019 Highlander’s showed the tag. I own a 2018 Highlander. Talked to several friends with other subs and their vehicles do not show the top of their tags. Also, tailgate comes down and doesn’t stop as quickly as it should really hurt my arm! I make my grandchildren back away to side of vehicle when loading back packs

Oh, the features on this SUV!

This vehicle has ALL the bells and whistles. There are so many things to customize, I can't wait to find them all. So far, my favorite things are the heated steering wheel, the user interface that actually works with voice commands to call friends and family and the puddle lamps that display "highlander" on the ground outside the driver and passenger doors. Fancy! I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Beautiful SUV

This car was the exactly the one I was looking for. I have been looking for this particular color quite a while. I took the low mileage over the more fancy Style. the car runs like a dream, very roomy. I like the fact that everything is easily accessible from the steering wheel. I have plenty of room in the back for anything I need to transport.i have Owned Toyota's before and they keep their value and are very reliable. the seat fits me like a glove. Very comfortable .

Already giving problems in just few months

Gps tracking stopped working. Dealer replaced it. Rear liftgate does not work properly tried the glasswindow lock and the switch next to glove compartment. I could not close it and it opened while driving and dropped my shopping items on road. Today going to work check engine light, hazard light and see dealer sign came ON on start at approx 18k miles
