2019 Volkswagen Atlas consumer reviews

Has all the space we need, very comfy ride and amazing tech in our 2019 SEL. The handling is exceptional for a vehicle this size.

I bought a 2018 atlas SEL premium In September of 2018. Now as of May it 2019 my atlas has been in the shop for motor issues. Rust on the back of the atlas and now the sunroof is leaking. It only has 9,000 miles I have called and asked the dealer ship to do a Lemon on this car because of all these issues. It’s constantly in the repair shop.

After months of watching prices we got a steal on the 2019 VW Atlas 2.0t S. Opposite of what some online tests say, it was so far the easiest car to install car seats. The anchors aren’t covered by cloth deep in the seat as they are in a ‘17 Jetta. The sound of the turbo engine is very nice and I’m glad after owning a Jetta I still get the sound but with more horse power. The atlas goes nice around curves, and is a very quiet suv. If you are familiar with the VW dash board you will be happy that you won’t have to learn much new, Apple car play is easy to handle and responds very well to the voice. After considering the Subaru ascent I’m glad we picked size over features. The basic atlas offers enough for us as a family of 4 plus two big dogs, we saved thousands on unnecessary features, that sure would have been nice to have but do we really need it?! The black cloth seats are very comfortable and look nicer than with most other brands (also there’s some air vents below the seats). Pay a little extra and you get push button remote start, which is nice when you have kids or pets, step in a pre warmed/cooled suv. Our Jetta was super reliable and we never had an issue, I expect the atlas to be the same and so far any VW dealership we went to was very nice and customer friendly.

I love my new Atlas. A great looking car, drives nice and nicely priced. Went for the SE with Technology even though it didn’t have Navigation.Since I rarely have relied on my previous cars Nav and used google maps anyway. Now I just connect to Apple Car play and it works great.

I searched for and researched many mid-sized suvs and came across the Atlas not remembering VW now made one as well. I will have to tell you it surpassed my expectations and checked off all my needs flawlessly! I needed a family car to fit 2 car seats and 4 adults without being cramped and this works amazingly! The captain chairs give the car seats room to maneuver around, front and back since the whole seat raises not just the back! It has all the top safety features I was wanting plus the interior is just beautiful! I feel so proud of this car and can’t wait for many years in it!

Roomy, comfortable, easy to handle, plenty of power on this FWD SE. Lot’s of features for the money with a high safety rating. Farfegneugen for sure.

The color is a beautiful blue. The silver accents just make the car more beautiful. I love how roomy the vehicle is. The sound system is one of the best that I have heard. I love the steering features. We argue over which one of us gets to drive it.

High expectations. Low performance and ABSOLUTELY no reliability. Electrical xxx and Cruise issues, multiple dead battery at intersections, had to buy a jump pack so I can get home when the car dies enroute. VW says: ‘we can’t find anything wrong with it’ and ‘we can’t duplicate it’ and ‘the computer doesn’t show any examples for what you claim’. The disappointing thing is, we were intending to import this to Germany to tow a camper around Europe. Doing so would remove any VW warranty. The car definitely needs a warranty! But so far VW isn’t standing by (or even acknowledging any issues)! I think the term ‘Corporate Malfeasance’ comes to mind. Sad. Sad. Sad.

Been having the atlas for a little over a year now (19,800 miles) has been a great family hauler and really reliable. From all the research I’ve done the vr6 is made to go well past 250,000 miles and paired to the aisin 8 speed transmission that has proven to be reliable as well is comforting .

Everything is great so far with the exception of a couple of things. Maybe i'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out the foot sensor for the tailgate. Only works sometimes. Steering wheel has a squeaking sound...i might take it in. But everything is great!
