Window problem
I had this car for 6 months. 2 of which I actually drove a rental because it was in the shop being repaired. Loved the car and the service guys were great but because VW did not know how to fix this window issue they finally bought it back with a full refund to me. Sorry to see it go but just could not put up with it anymore.

Don't roll window down!!!!!
We bought one of the first New Beetle's and within the first month the motor on the power windows went out.The second month the gasket on the window went out.And then the motor again. We have had it in to be fixed 5 different times. Finally we called Customer Care after the fifth time they opened a review and then offered to buy our car back for the amount we paid for it.I loved my little red beetle but I'm getting out of it until they find out how to fix the problem. So until then I will go with something else.

Bad service, scetchy build quality
Car sure looks cool but beware the instrument cluster will fail and a functioning replacement will not be available. Twop weeks after purchase the instrument cluster stoped working and now a month and a half later it has not been fixed. the dealership has had numerous replacements ordered and received, all malfunctioning. The dealer ship now says" don't call us we'll call you". This is a brand new car. Also electrical gremlins are playing havok with the power windows, sometimes they go up,sometimes halfway, sometimes down, but not where you would like at any time. Beware there are certainly some bugs to iron out on the bug.

Love the Car and About those Windows
I totally love the new Beetles. I have had mine for about 4 or 5 months. Like many, the main problem I have had is the window motor going out or not working properly. The windows seem to have a mind of their own. Sometimes when I would get out of the car and lock it, the passenger window would roll down all the way or not go up all the way when closed. I went to the car wash one day and the window did not go up all the way when shut and the inside of my car was totally flooded. The driver side window would go up, down, up, down when you push to roll the windows up. Just went in the shop last week again for the windows and had driver side and passenger side window motors replaced but, they said that VW is switching suppliers for the window motors and they are trying to figure out what the problem is with it so they can fix it. Until then you will just have to deal with a window that does not work properly. I was told that they will send out a letter or recall to all 2012 Beetle owners when they have resolved the problem, so you know when to go get it fixed. I have had several other small problems that had to be fixed but, overall I think it is a great car. Every manufacturer has problems and recalls with the first year of a new design of the vehicle so no biggie with the windows although it is annoying to deal with. I would still buy it again even knowing the problems with the windows. Everyone loves how the car looks, I get people stopping me all of the time saying how cute or cool the car looks and that they love the new design.

Love it...except for the window problems!!!!
I got the fully loaded turbo with the sun, sound, nav package. It is a fun car to drive!!! Ws had a 4 door sedan before so it was a bit of an adjustment getting used to the smaller interior. The trunk space is bigger than I thought it would have been and suprisingly can hold a lot of cargo. It took a while to get used to a lot of the features, we discivered several things on our own that were not mentioned in the manuals. Both my husband and I are loving it, great gas milage, the Fender sound system is amazing, and we have gotten a TON of compliments. The ladies think it's really cute and the guys think it is super cool! I think it appeals to both sexes for sure. I was never a fan of the other Beetle style. I would love to say that I am 100% happy with this car.....but I can't. The windows are a HUGE problem. I've had it 3 weeks now and have had major problems since the first day. It's as if the windows have a mind of their own, will go half way up then go back down. It takes several tries to get it to go completely up and stay there. This has NOTHING to do with the feature where the window lowers slightly when the door is first opened and then goes back up into the gasket when the door is shut, although I have had problems with it not going back into the gasket. Again, they have a mind of their own. It has to do with when you have the window rolled down and you want to roll it back up. Whether I have been driving, parked, or am using the one-touch on the door handle to raise the windows, they won't go all the way up, they get about 3 inches from the top and then go back down. It's has not been fun when I need to get to an appointment and am trying to roll my windows up but they don't go up or when I'm on a call using the bluetooth and the wind is blowing through the windows, when I need to roll up the windows they will not go up the first time. It take 2-7 trys to get it to stay up. I was concerned after reading so many reviews about people having issues with the windows and they were bring it to the dealership only to have them replace the motor. Both my husband and I said that it does not feel like a motor problem, more like a sensor issue. Sure enough, we brought it in 3 days ago (for the 2nd time) and were told that VW has found that there is in fact a problem with some of the sensors. So I am happy that they have figured out what the problem is and more importantly how to fix it, at least I hope. The bad news is that the "parts" are on backorder, they estimated a few months before they arrive. Like I said before, I really want to say that I am completely satisfied with my purchase, but I won't be able to say that until they get this problem fixed.

Those Darn Windows!
Love the car, love the drive and all the cars' features. Sad to say that German engineering isn't what it used to be.......have the car for 5 weeks and it's been in their shop twice to have the power windows fixed. Still not fixed. Just checked around online and see that I am not the only one. What are they waiting for to roll out the fix? Not to mention that if you are not at least 5 feet 2 inches tall, you will not be able to reach the trunk in order to close it.

Finally did it right
We've owned our Turbo Beetle for 3 months now and am very satisfied with it. We get more comments on it than my Corvette Z06. It's very stylish, comfortable and has a little bit of unexpected power when you need it. Fuel economy suffers when you drive it hard but over all it's very fun to drive. The Fender stereo is amazing!

Love my new 2012 bug
Purchased my 2012 VW Beetle late February. Went in to look at a possible switch out of my 09 Jetta SE to a 2012 Jetta SE. I am so glad I took the time to consider the Bug. The 2.5 litre engine is my go to engine for VW. I love the strong dependable feeling it has. We also have a 2011 GTI great car as well. This is my third VW with the 2.5 and I am returning 27.5 mpg in everyday driving and 34 highway. Yes you read that right, 34 highway. Consistantly for the last 3000 miles. I have to admit I do use higher quality gas. even at 87 octane she was getting 22.5. I drive in Orlando FL. I cannot say enough good things about this car and yes I too am having an issue with the pinch protection activating on the windows and forcing them down. Just roll them back up to top and hold the button in the up position for 30 seconds to clear the issue until you can get to the service dept. (it is in the manual btw) The ride is great. The exit and entry height is great. The doors open really wide. They engineers have removed almost all the blind spots by moving the "B" pillar back. I would totally recommend this car to anyone. Load it up with the sunroof, auto and convenience package and you will not be dissapointed.

An awesome "VOCHO"
Went in "just for a test drive" and drove away in a 2012 red beetle. So far, all good. Love the way it drives, and the basic engine has nice power; turbo must be a lil' rocket. As far as the previous comments regarding the windows not going up all the way, they're meant to do that--that helps prevent the rubber seal from being damaged. Once the car door is closed, they close the rest of the way. Basic stereo is also more than adequate..nice sound pumps from the speakers. If you have the $$, consider the turbo with the Fender stereo upgrade (400 watts and 10 speakers, I think). But, if you're like me and on a budget, get a basic bug--you won be disappointed!! btw- "VOHO" is what they call the beetle in Spanish. Well done VW!!!!
