Pretty good value

Suspension is soft, could use a much better suspension. HP is ok for 150 turbo charged, torque is good for get up to speed and passing. Not good with a car full of adults and luggage. I have the Jetta s, I wonder what having the flu would be like so I may end up trading this one for it in a year or 2.

Good value for German Engineering

This is my second Jetta, my 3rd VW. I originally had a 2003 Passat, then transitioned to a Jetta SEL in 2011 with the new body style (Mk6) because it grew in size and the new Passat was too big. This car was totaled, and I got a 2017 Jetta SE to replace it because they're well-accessorized, mostly reliable, comfortable and just the right size. With snow tires on all 4 wheels it's highly capable in the snow. The new 1.4L turbo engine is amazingly efficient but still has plenty of power, I think I like it better than the 2.5L naturally aspirated engine. The past few years 4 wheel independent suspension has been standard, as have 4 wheel disc brakes (my 2011 had trailing arm rear suspension and only the SEL came with 4 wheel disc brakes--it's ridiculous to sell a car with drum brakes in the 21st century). Get the 6 speed automatic transmission--the manual is fun but 5 gears is not enough. My 2 biggest issues: 1. SE and SEL Jettas all have sunroof as standard for 2017 and 2018--don't need, don't want, couldn't avoid. 2. All 3 of my VWs have suffered strange electrical glitches. The Passat fried its alternator before 100K and had central locking or trunk release bugs, and both Jettas have had entertainment system as well as locking system bugs. But the engines, drivetrains, suspension, bodies are super reliable, they handle really well, look great, and last forever. Great for commuting, good trunk space, and actual room for 5 adults. I'm 6' tall, and have a very comfortable driving position, which I've found difficult to achieve in other compact sedans.

The Jetta is great small compact vehicle. It has everything you need that makes the driving experience fantastic. I don?t know if I will ever by anything other than a Volkswagen!

Typical VW

This mid sized car handles well and is adequately powered. It steers Propery at slow and highway speeds of 70-75 mph.

GLI - What a surprise

Last 4 cars were European high performance luxury cars. Was hesitant to "downgrade" to a VW GLI. But what a car! Owned for 6 months. Ride is excellent. Interior & cargo space unmatched (for the class). Attractive & sporty looking. Getting 36 MPG on highway. Is surprisingly quick (not fast - but quick). Dependable. Just a fun car to drive. Has far exceeded my expectations.

Nicest Car I've Ever Owned

I may be biased as this is the first new car my husband and I have ever owned, but we love our Jetta. It has incredible gas mileage, outperforms anything else we've ever driven, and is sleek and classy. We feel like we've "arrived" with this car. We loved showing it off at Christmas!

Love My Jetta 1.8T

This is my second 1.8T Jetta and I love it. Can I afford a fancy car? Yes, but the reliability, solid driving performance, and price make more sense. Love this car!

Solid car

I have only owned my Jetta for a few weeks now, but so far I love it! Now the MAIN (but not only) reason for my enthusiastic review is because I bought my car at the very end of the model year and got a very good deal on it...that being said, even at the sticker price this is a solid car! I got the base model Jetta with nothing special in the way of options, but still am very impressed with what you get for the money! All and all I would say that as far as value, the Jetta is a great choice!
