2006 GMC Envoy Denali 4X4 review
Powerful and reliable, reasonable mpg.
The V-8 has ample power for this SWB truck, and great tow vehicle with 3.73 4x4. Low mileage for me but after 95k the only surprise was replacing the fuel-level indicator. Reading of potential AFM issues, I disabled this feature and found it does not impact fuel economy. Since disabling AFM, no longer has excessive oil consumption common with this 5.3.

The Envoy It’s a very comfortable and powerful SUV. The towing capabilities were perfect for our family getaway to the lake. The 4.2L V6 engine is powerful enough for the hills and straightaways. Lots of get-up and go for the Denali V8. Fun on the performance side. Ride is good. Seats are a little stiff and flat (for bucket seats). Nice ride height to see around cars in front of you. Easy in and out of the car. Narrow wheel base makes side-to-side swaying more noticable. Enjoy the Denali!
