Was looking for a basic hatchback with good gas mileage that wasn't stupid expensive. Commute to work and so far combined I get 42mpg. Rides as good as any car I have owned (with one exception). Performance wise have no idea how old the reviewers are or even if they actually drove the car as it has no problem on the highway or in town driving, rarely do I exceed 4,000rpm to keep up with or ahead of traffic. It's like people don't remember how cars were in the past before the horsepower race to cram 250-350hp engines into everything. In town it's 0-30 that matters but even the 0-60 of 10.4 sec is equal to or better than most small cars from the 70's-90's. Only car I owned that was faster was my '73 Jaguar XJ12. Almost identical 0-60 were my CRX, Opel GT, 200sx. My Triumph Spitfire was way slower. But they were all fun cars to drive.

THE LITTLE 1.2 DOHC ENGINE IS STRONG BUT MITUSBISHI SHOULD HAVE PUT A STANDARD TURBO ON THIS ENGINE,, THATS WHY MITSUBISHI MADE THE 3A92 MIVEC ENGINE.. HIGHLY DURABLE & STRONG .. NO PROBLEM ON THE HIGHWAY OR THE TAKE OFF FROM A STREET LIGHT. THE TRANSMISSION IS ALSO GOOD.. CVT.. NEVER CRAZY ABOUT CVT ... BUT THIS TRANSMISSION IS OK.. CAR HANDLES IN SNOW.. RAIN,, RUNS WELL.. Rees was my greeter and was an excellent source of information and sales expediter. Rees explained the CarMax process and then Listened to the car features I required. He did searches of car max inventory, searches of manufacturers’ sites for additional info, and requested transfer of a vehicle from another location. There was no pressure to buy (CarMax has a five day return policy). Paperwork was efficient, and I even got help getting both the car I bought and the car I arrived in home. I owned a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback Rockford Fosgate edition that got 40+ mpg in the city and up to 50+ mpg on the interstate. That car was totalled in a wreck 2 weeks ago, I was hit from behind by a large pickup truck. I am now driving a 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage ES Hatchback and it is just as good. I give it a 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

Gas mileage 50 mpg. So easy to drive especially at night. Bright lights could be brighter though. Excellent speakers. Hard to see screen when sun is shining on it. But perfect at night.

I needed a reliable, economical car for my long work commute, and did not want to buy used and take my chance on having things break down. The Mirage has one of the best warranties in the industry, so that attracted me. The super affordable price also helps - I paid 14,000 for the 2020 LE Hatchback, brand new. When I first test drove it I was slightly disappointed in the noise - but I have completely gotten used to it now that I have owned my vehicle for about 6 months. It is fun to drive, has handled perfectly on wet, slick roads (snow and ice both) and the driver's seat is comfortable, and heated, too! Back seat area is a bit cramped - would not recommend taking adult passengers for an overly long trip! But I have NOT found it to be that sluggish - I can pass on the highway easily when needed and enjoy my drive each day. Great visibility when driving, at least in the hatchback. I am SO glad I bought mine and have no plans to get rid of it for years to come!

In 2016 we bought our first brand new Mitsubishi Mirage. Our daughter was helping us move and was driving our new car, when suddenly she was hit on the passenger side by a drunk driver. The safety features of the Mitsubishi Mirage thankfully saved her. With the insurance money and the Gap Insurance, needless to say we bought another brand new Mitsubishi Mirage! Then our daughter, her husband moved to Missouri! They were planning to come for Christmas and the 4 seater Mirage wouldn’t work, so we bought a 7 seater Mitsubishi Outlander. Since they didn’t come and do to finances wouldn’t be able to come we decided to down grade to a new 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. While driving on the highway I hit something (even though I didn’t see it) that flattened three tires and one of the rims. The way the the SUV is made, I had no trouble pulling over to the side of the road. In fact I thought I only had one flat tire until we were towed to a tire shop and that’s when we found out how bad it was. They figured because it had rained the night before, that the water covered a pothole and that’s what I hit! They said we were lucky to be alive and nothing else was wrong with the car! Well being that my husband is sight impaired and I now have arthritis in my right hip and left knee. Getting in the SUV even with a step was a challenge! So after 4 years we traded it in for a brand new 2022 Mirage LE! These aren’t fancy inside but they have good features. Even the 2022 with its small 3 cylinder engine, has very good pickup and does very well going up hills, without to much trouble.,All Mitsubishi vehicles get great gas mileage and a wonderful warranty! I’ve never understood the bad reviews because we’ve been very happy with the vehicles we’ve had!

For my first car, it’s great and I love it. I’ve always wanted a car that wasn’t giant and making me uncomfortable. It’s extremely comfortable and the trunk space is amazing.

If you are looking for a cheap car just to get the route from A to B point - this one is perfect for that. Not for families with children, not for parties. Good like a first car. Really small (probably one of the smallest cars that I've ever seen before). This fits 4 adults or 3 adults + 2 children (not on the child boosters \ seats). Or 2 adults and 2 children in child seats. Almost zero room for the luggage. Pretty good for gas - it's worst than hybrid cars but better than many other gas cars. On average about 30 mpg in the city for us. So in our new world with the highest rates on the gas - it's a good idea to buy cars like that just for daily job rides. Exactly at our Mirage, we have some noises on time of braking uses. It starts right after the purchase of this car. Nothing extra in our first 3-month use. So 4 from 5 for a good gas using but ugly design inside.

As a retired tx DPS mvi trooper through my 30 years dealing with dealers carmax is most caring dealer. When we went to car max on gulf freeway to look for a new vehicle the salesman were very caring and helpful to find the velociraptor we wanted. My daughter bought a 2015 Kia Soul today from Jeff Wiemann at Carmax Cy Fair. 15 minutes into our visit she realized Jeff had been her salesman back in 2013 when she purchased her 'first' car! He's a great salesman- I have always given 5 star reviews to carmax- but Jeff deserves a huge 5 star review too!

This is my third car purchase from CAR MAX . A later model for the wife . A jeep Cherokee and is a 2019 with low mileage . She is happy and that makes US happy . The purchase was not hurried and no back and forth between Mr Smith and I . Really straightforward . Satisfied completely .

Car was in for regular 10K service. Chose to wait for the car, instead of leaving it, and it was ready in less than an hour.

If you're going to go buy a car go to cars on demand either location Spencer or beltway 8 they had the nicest most friendliest staff I had a 2014 Chevy Impala check engine light never came on it ran perfect good in the inside good on the outside I recently was in a car accident and totaled the 2014 Chevy Impala and I think it felt like that they were more worried about my well-being than they was their car and they're working with me to get me in another vehicle I'm telling you if you need a good car and nice as friendly as people you'll ever meet go to cars on demand I recommend them to the highest fullest power I fell back on my payment not once but I think twice never did they blow up my phone and call me everyday I called them told them what was happening and they understood that sometimes in life things don't go right they gave me time to catch up no problem whatsoever they're just the best people I just love this car lot I recommend them to anybody go get a car from cars on demand

This car is great for a first car! I’ve gotten this car as 16 year old brand new in 2015. Since then I had many oil changes and tire rotations. I use this car for transportation of friends and family, going to work and school. As of today I have over 200,000+ miles on this and it is still going strong. With me getting around 39-45mpg every day. (Back when gas was under a dollar I only paid $7 for a fill up. Now it’s $20 so definitely worth it instead of paying $40-$80 per fill up.) The only issue I have with it is the check engine light is on and doing diagnostics it has emissions issues with a small leak. The inside you get a basic radio I suggest getting a Bluetooth audio receiver so you can listen to your own music on your phone. Driving at night is one of the worst things in this car. You get blinded every time you go past a car in the opposite lanes. Also the cloth seats are amazing your xxx is never frozen compared to a leather seat.

The Mirage is very good at fulfilling its mission-inexpensive to buy, fuel and maintain. I have 60k miles on a 2019 Mirage and I haven’t had any problems. Great car to buy if you understand the Mirage’s role. I love my Mirage!
