I have almost 500,000 on my Silverado.
I have almost 500,000 on my Silverado. I use it for construction ,I ve replaced everything at least once but I would buy a fleet of these trucks if I could. Chevys only down fall, body under the doors rusting. And the transmission being under sized for towing etc and the brake system. Compared to other trucks it's a gem.

Toughest truck on the road
I had a 1999 Silverado z71 new body style 500487 miles replaced normal items brakes alternator ac ect Transmission 280-200.000 mile it is done for after another 200.000 transmission I went to a 2003 the 1999 motor still running used 2guart oil in 40000 miles my 2003 same got 3000.000 on it motor strong rebuilt trans at 280.000 put one transfer case in at 200.00 love the truck I’m keeping it and driving it got 300480 on it needing a rear end it’s got a lot of slack and vibration starting up very low cost up keep I’m looking for another rear end what is the best newest year I can go with

SILVERADO DIE HARD
BOUGHT MINE TWO YRS OLD WITH 36K,I AM A HARD DRIVER,NOTHING STOPPED ME FROM GOING WHERE I NEED TO GO CONCERNNG WEATHER,AND I HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IN SOME PRETTY BAD STORMS AND ALWAYS FELT VERY SAFE AND CONFIDENT IN THIS TRUCK,IT HAS ACCUALLY SAVED MY xxx FROM CRASHING DUE TO ITS HANDLING,OR I AM JUST A REALLY GOOD DRIVER,LOL,IM GIVING THE TRUCK THE CREDIT.YUP,DONE SOME REPAIRS THROUGHOUT THE YRS,MECHANICAL THINGS BREAK,THEN YOU FIX IT,IT IS NORMAL.I HAVE NEVER LET ANYTHING GO UNATTENDED,I AM ALSO A MAINTANACE FREAK,200K DOES NOT BURN OIL,SOUNDS AND RUNS EXCELLENT,THE REPAIRS WERE SPACED OUT ENOUGH THAT IT NEVER STRUCK ME TO SAY WELL IT IS TIME TO SELL,AND I DONT SAY THAT NO MORE BC EVERY TIME I SAID, I MIGHT SELL,IT BROKE DOWN.EVERY TIME,,,I HAVE JUST FINISHED DOING THE ENTIRE TRUCK OVER,20YRS MAKES IT A CLASSIC,PAINT IS ALL ORIGINAL,PUT SOME FUEL RIMS,MAGNAFLOW STAINLESS EXHAUST AND HIGH FLOW CATS,REBUIT 4WD,REAR DIF,TRANS AT 90K,ACCUALLY JUST REPLACED ORIGINAL ALT,IT WAS WORKIG FINE BUT I NOTICED A SLIGHT NEEDLE POSITION CHANGE ON ALT GAUGE,I HAVE PUT ALL NEW LIGHT KITS 3 TIMES NOW,THIS LAST TIME I WENT TO GM DEALER FOR THE HEADLIGHTS,THERE EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH THE EXTRA,AFTERMARKETS ARE CRAP,BOUGHT THE TRUCK FOR 20K IN 2005,I WILL SAY OVER LAST 18YRS,TIRES,REPAIRS,I AM GOING TO SAY COST NO MORE THAN 10K,,,,,,BEST TRUCK I HAVE EVER HAD,AND ALL THE LATE MODEL OWNERS SAY THEY WOULD TRADE,NO PROBLEM,I AM NEVER GETTING RID OF IT,I AM IN FOR 30K OVER 18YRS,I AM STILL AHEAD OF THE GAME BY ATLEAST 30K IF I WERE TO BUY A NEW ONE,I AM AT A POINT OF TRUE PRIDE IN OWNERSHIP,,,,AND IF AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT,LOL,,,WHEN I WANT A CHANGE,I JUMP IN MY 66'IMPALA SS BBC ZZ502,AND SEE YA,,,,GOOD LUCK ALL
