If you pay attention at all to end-of-year auto sales reports, you know that pickup trucks have taken up pretty much permanent residence in the top tier, followed immediately by compact SUVs. Car shoppers appear to need little encouragement to buy these body styles — but inflation being what it is these days, everyone can use a price break. That’s why we’ve taken the liberty of identifying the most modestly priced pickup trucks and SUVs available to help you find the vehicle you want at a price you can afford.

In Cars.com’s most popular news article of the past month, we round up the 10 cheapest pickup trucks you can buy right now. To give you a better idea of what you can actually expect to pay upon tracking down your truck, our breakdown includes both the base price (ranging from just under $24,000 to just over $38,000) and the median sales price reflected in the inventory of Cars.com dealers (ranging from just under $28,000 to just over $53,000), with a destination charge figured into all prices.

The top 10 cheapest new pickups include specified models of the 2023 Ford Maverick, 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, 2022 Chevrolet Colorado, 2023 Toyota Tacoma, 2023 Ford Ranger, 2022 GMC Canyon, 2023 Nissan Frontier, 2022 Ram 1500 Classic, 2023 Ford F-150 and 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

Likewise, we’ve also rounded up the most affordable new SUVs on the market. They range in price from around $23,000 to more than $25,000, including destination as well as any AWD upcharge. And as fuel economy also figures into economy, we’ve also listed each model’s respective EPA-estimated rating, ranging from 27 to 32 mpg combined.
