CARS.COM — Nobody liked you, 2016! Seriously, we lost David BowieandPrince and a seemingly endless procession of beloved figures (George Michael and Carrie Fisher in just the past few days). We all suffered through a viscerally divisive presidential election regardless of our political affiliation. And the Cubs won the World Series — OK, that was totally awesome for literally millions of people but it really sucked for the city of Cleveland. On the other hand, we’re Americans, and as such we love our cars … so let’s talk about that instead, shall we?
Captain’s chairs, Apple CarPlay and compact SUVs reigned supreme among Cars.com’s most popular news stories published in the 2016 calendar year. Our multicar comparisons also had a strong showing, occupying four of the top 10 spots. And you people just can’t seem to get enough of our perennially popular, periodically updated story about which cars can fit three car seats across the backseat.
