If you own a 2021 Ford F-150 like we do, it’s apparently not just the windshield wiper motor that could cause you headaches. Ford is now issuing a recall for its big trucks and SUVs over the wipers’ arms, which may be susceptible to breaking.
Affected vehicles include nearly 653,000 model-year 2020-21 F-150 pickup trucks, Expedition SUVs and Navigator SUVs from Ford’s luxury brand Lincoln, plus model-year 2020-22 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks. The windshield wiper arms may break and cause the windshield wipers to fail, reducing visibility in certain driving conditions and increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace both front windshield wiper arms for free. Ford will begin notifying owners May 23, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 22S26), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
