I bought a car a week I signed the paperwork they said

I bought a car a week I signed the paperwork they said the car had to go through the inspection still which I totally understand but it’s been a week and I still don’t have a car I don’t understand why the car would be right in front where everyone can see it from the road if it was not ready to drive off in? They offered me a loaner car which I excepted but they offered me a car smaller then what I had and now I’m glad I didn’t give them my car because at this point I’m guessing I’m not getting the car I bought.

This was unbelievable.

This was unbelievable. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. Adding a 3900.00 protection package on to the price was completely ridiculous. Dropping it to 1100.00 was equally insulting and the original 15k offered for my trade in proved how much they were trying to take advantage. The whole process of going back and forth over the price and wearing me down to finally accepting the deal in front of me was a terrible experience. I took possession of the truck and the signed paperwork on a Friday night but was unable to pay as promised on the following monday due to a breach in my bank account. Although this breach has been a pain it has kept me from purchasing a vehicle from a less than reputable dealer. I came in monday to let them know I would not be able to keep the vehicle until I figured out this breach but they had already shipped my car off to auction. Before money had even exchanged hands my car was gone. I do believe they were willing to let me leave without transportation if I had not insisted that they needed to give me something to drive. I finally got my car back minus registration and plates and was told I would need to take care of that myself. Luckily Henna Chevrolet did not like me driving a vehicle with no plates or tags and offered me a loaner until I was able to make my purchase. Today the bank got everything cleared up and I purchased a brand new truck from Henna Chevrolet with no overpriced protection package and an offer for my tradein that is in-line with kbb. The whole process was fast and painless. Fyi:I have purchased three vehicles from covert hutto in the past and never felt like this. I also used the covert tool to price my tradein and it gave me a tradein value that was much higher than what the salesman was trying to push through. Henna chevy is the place to go if you want to be treated with respect and not a bunch of nonsense. Covert has lost my business forever as well as my sister and my son who will both be purchasing new vehicles in the next couple months.

Wasted our time and hit credit

Talked to us for 2 days regarding a vehicle…. We weren’t coming to agreement on trade in, but my husband really wanted the vehicle… so we were planning a trip in, ran our credit, for a vehicle that was sold the night before! We were lied to and spoken to under false pretenses… so now a hit to my credit that I NEVER would have done had they been honest and said the car sold rather then running our credit just in hopes of getting us to settle or come in.

Incompetent, Scummy, and a bunch of Liars.

I am a 22 year old young man and this was my first (And last time) that I would be buying a used car from this dealership (Or any major dealership anytime soon). Ranging from calling to get my license plate with attitude and hassle to sale personnel ignoring us for a while without any greetings. Make's matter worse is that I had a friend with a '15 silver Impala that got work done to that dealership only to get it done half-assed and she is still waiting for them to fix the issues. But the worse is yet to come... Main story: (7/31/21) Bought the car which is a 2013 Hyundai Veloster base that cost about $12K, had some issues with it like the steering wheel, door handle and being all dirty and the salesman told me they will take care of all of that including the oil change, looked at the carfax report and there was no record for history for 2017 - 2020 and told the sales person did the previous owner did their own maintenance but needed a bit of work done to the car. I sadly agree to buy this car for 12K and that was the downhill part about this entire thing. (9/7/21) - The check engine light came on when I was driving to home, first thing I checked was the dip stick and it was pitch black but in between the L and F lines. I changed the oil with my car and the oil was pitch black and I knew they didn't change the oil in the car at all. 400 miles later the car have pitch black oil in a span of 2 weeks? So the oil change after I got the car was a lie. And the car was screaming at some solenoids codes when I did scanned it so I replace them and still got a CEL on after a week I did it. Unfortunately we was moving out of city to the area and have to stay with another family's for some months away from the dealership. Hyundai had a recall of the car so we got it taken care of within months (Oct 2021 - Mar 2022) and inspected they told me the car needs a new timing chain installed and I agree to them repairing the timing chain. Then the worse part about it? The timing chain wasn't the issue. Oil sludge in the engine. The previous owner rarely (Or didn't at all) change the engine oil in years. Told me it's only a matter of time before the entire engine gave out and need to replace the engine. They tried to flush it out the engine that cost me nearly 2 grand and still it was a lost cause. Engine replacements aren't cheap at all and told me it would be around $5-7K out of pocket and since I am the 3rd owner of the car and the state of the car was in before I was SOL. Less than 3K miles and need a 5K engine replacement. These people sold me a motor that was on it's way out and no way that this car could of pass inspection or diagnostic test fully yearly with a CEL constantly on. GRADY JAY GRIFFITH sold me this car and promised everything and that was broken all with this car. Avoid this man at all cost or better yet avoid that xxx dealership all together. I even seen some reviews that is overall mixed and having a similar experience with terrible service. Now I have a non-working car that I put less than 3K miles on and the engine is basically out. Still have to make payments but need a car to go to work and back. These people xxxxed me over big time and never again I will shop at any location of Covert. My mother is floored by this and said the same thing I said too. How this business is still running is beyond me, it needs to be shut down for good or seriously overhauled. I'm too upset to even talk to anyone at Covert at this point.

Sold a car with a blown engine

A car that less than 3 weeks after purchase requires a new engine due to a blown gasket head, which the independent garage says "is definitely not recent" should not have passed the inspection and was never fit for purpose when I bought it. The vehicle went through service before being delivered meaning either the service was shoddy, or the dealership was purposefully hiding the fault from us at sale. Getting the paperwork I signed was a big fight and I only received parts until now, getting the dealership to charge us the sticker price and not increase it at will was a 5h battle. I will recommend to anyone to avoid this dealership at all costs.
