**Disappointing Experience at David Stanley – Misleading

**Disappointing Experience at David Stanley – Misleading Discounts and Poor Vehicle Preparation** I recently purchased a vehicle from David Stanley and wanted to share my experience. Initially, I found the listing on Cars.com, where the vehicle was advertised with a $12,300 discount, which applied to all 25 Durango GTs. However, after speaking with a salesman, I learned the actual discount was $10,000, with $3,000 of that tied to financing through the dealership. To get the full $12,300, you’d need a qualified trade-in, which felt more like a bait-and-switch tactic to draw in potential buyers. For context, I purchased the vehicle remotely, as I live out of state. Despite requesting photos of the car, my salesperson never followed up. I didn’t push for them, thinking it might seem too pushy, but in hindsight, I should have been more vocal. The night before my scheduled pickup (January 3rd), I was told the vehicle was a demo with over 5,000 miles, despite the paperwork listing it as "new" when I signed everything on January 2nd. I had even signed the odometer disclosure, which inaccurately stated 12 miles, before they discovered the true mileage. This is where I felt the dealership dropped the ball. They never should have listed it as a new vehicle. A manager I spoke with offered no price adjustment, but instead suggested I consider a more expensive vehicle. His explanation for not adjusting the price was that the car was already marked down, even though other Durango GTs of the same model, with premium paint options, were also listed at the same $12,300 discount. Clearly, this particular vehicle had not been adjusted, and no one at the dealership seemed aware it was a demo until the salesperson physically checked the mileage. On the morning of the pickup, the car was not ready. I had arranged to pick it up at 8:30 AM, but when I arrived, the car was dirty and unkempt. The seats had stains that wouldn’t come out despite my efforts with a carpet cleaner and vacuum. The interior was covered in food remnants, including candy stuck to the carpet. There were permanent indentations on the seats from a car seat, and the back of the passenger seat had visible scratches. It was clear the car had been used extensively and wasn’t even cleaned before being handed over to me, despite the dealership having 5 days to prepare it. The salesperson offered a quick wipe-down, but by that point, I was already frustrated and just wanted to leave. While the car itself is nice, it’s far from “new,” and it’s clear it had been poorly maintained by the previous driver. Worse, the dealership sold it to me without any prior warning. I had already wired $21,000, including a non-refundable deposit, on Wednesday, but the lack of preparation and honesty regarding the vehicle’s condition made the whole process feel like a scam. This is my second purchase from David Stanley, and the first experience wasn’t nearly as bad, which makes this even more disappointing. At the end of the day, the car is fine, but the deceptive practices, lack of transparency, and overall lack of care in preparing the vehicle left a sour taste. It’s disheartening that the dealership has not offered to remedy the situation, and it’s clear they don’t value customers once the sale is made

THIS DEALERSHIP IS A JOKE.

THIS DEALERSHIP IS A JOKE. I tried to purchase three different vehicle from LEXI, all of which "weren't available at the time" after three months of communication between me and her via text. Not once do I receive updates from the dealer. I have to initiate contact every time. I adamantly ask to put a down payment on these vehicles just to save my place and secure the vehicle, and they refused. The games that this dealer is willing to play. BUYER BEWARE

My experience with David Stanley CDJR was a clown show.

My experience with David Stanley CDJR was a clown show. Wanted to purchase a new 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L Series II listed on their website - listed with “Sale Price 51,080”. After sending in details of trade-in, they were $8k below Carvana’s offer. When I told them I would not trade-in, and rather purchase straight up instead, was told that price would increase $2k due to to trade in match, even though that is listed separately. Additionally was told that price would go up another $1k because it included first responder discount in internet-listed price. Price somehow increased from $51k to $54k. What? This does not include $650 “doc fees”. After negotiating to buy for $51.5k including doc fees, went through doc signing process online to pick up two days later. 30 minutes after signing, received a call that in the process of moving the vehicle over, they had a mix up and sold it to someone else. Call it a mix up, call it a bait-and-switch, whatever the case, recommend others avoid.
