paying for their mistakes

I went in the previous afternoon and picked out my car. I said I would retuen the following day to pick it up with my dad. I showed up and the man I worked with the day before, Bob, was with another customer. And instead of finding us someone who was available he stuck us in a room with no paperwork to fill out while we waitied. Twenty-five minutes later after my father yelled at Bob for beingso unprofessional someone was finally directed to the room we waited in to help us. Finally after we filled out the paperwork we were escorted to the financing department. That is where we sat for 2 hours waiting. No one explained the way we were financing the vehicle to the man setting up the loan so he messed everything up. Finally we leave with the car 4 hours upon arriving. Then one week later the bank started calling to say I had not filled out the correct amount of paperwork. I have since been called 6 times a day since and texted 10 times a day. I have done everything theyhave asked me to do, then inform me that wwasn't what I was supposed to do. I am a mom and they expect me to drop everything all day everyday to fix something they screwed up in the first place. They botched the paperwork and have harrassed me every day since. I will never go back to Dave Sinclair to buy another car and I will advise anyone else from doing so.

Not just this dealer, but all internet dealers.

All these int dealers have 1 thing in commom that is very irratating. They advertise these super low prices. But its all just advertising gimicks. When you actually find out what you'll have to pay for the truck, its several thousand more than the advertised price! They'll tell you, "oh, thats the price if you finance with us, trade in a clean late model vehicle, and own a 1999 or newer like vehicle to qualify for the customer loyalty discount. Without these discounts, the price is 4-5k higher than what is advertised. Why can't they just be honest & give the REAL price 1st, then add that if you meet certain other requirements, you could qualify for certain discounts. A law requiring this would be great , in my opinion. & I've found that most dealers will try to dance around the issue & try to get you to come in for a test drive, so that they can apply some of their hi pressure sales tactics. That should be 1 of the advantages of internet shopping--not having to deal with salsemen. Just state your price & let the buyer choose to buy or not! This is my 1st int truck shopping exp, so I guess I'm the last to find out the unpleasant truth about it. Thanks for listening!

My salesman, Colin Akos, was extremely helpful in finding the right car for me. I was able to upgrade from my previous coupe into a very nice Buick Regal Turbo with ALL the bells and whistles. Colin was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Michael Sinclair, the General Sales Manager, ensured that a good deal went through for me. Both were extremely pleasant to work with and more than fair in their negotiations. Nothing beats the personal service provided by this dealership. Best dealership in town. THANK YOU

Dealer response

Mr. Lawson had requested a vehicle that we did not have in our inventory; We located the desired vehicle at another dealership, and negotiated a price for that vehicle with Mr. Lawson; and accepted a deposit from him for that transaction; When we contacted the dealership, they initially indicated that the vehicle was available; Between the time of that initial contact and our follow up contact with the other dealer after the sale (the next business day) the other dealership indicated that the desired vehicle was no longer available; which sometimes happens, since a dealership with a customer in front of them will generally sell to them rather than to a dealer in another market; When we attempted to locate a vehicle similar to the one that he wanted, none was available within the normal trading radius within which we trade (farther distances generally lead to additional costs which buyers are unwilling to pay?they would rather change vehicles or order one) When informed of that on Monday, Mr. Lawson requested a return of his deposit; the manager to whom he spoke agreed, but since the conversation occurred in the evening after our business offices had closed, Mr. Lawson was informed that the refund check could not be generated until the next morning; evidently his wife said to mail it; He evidently felt that we had misled him about the availability of the first truck, but we did not, nor would we have any reason to promise a vehicle that we would never be able to deliver. However Mr. Lawson called me the next day to request his deposit, I agreed, and since I had not been involved previously, asked whether he wanted to pick it up, or have it mailed, not knowing what his wife had said; he indicated he wished it be available for pickup; When I checked, our office had already mailed his deposit refund to him that morning as we had said that we would, so we stopped payment on the first check, issued a second, and had it waiting for him on his arrival approximately 30 minutes later, When I approached him to give him his check, he took it, turned away without explanation and began cursing at me, in front of his grandson, all the way out the door; When I followed him to see why he was so upset, and if I could help, he continued to curse and left; Daniel J. no non sense

Told salesman the car I wanted, test drove it and told him what I wanted for my trade in, we agreed on a price, the car I was buying was set way below market price we shook hands, I was happy with the deal, he knew I did my homework no non-sense a great experience i'll be back when we're ready for another. Dave's Sinclair Automotive is easy to deal with, no pressure!

IT IS REALLY BAD THAT I TEST DROVE A CAR AND ADVISED THE SALES PERSON THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AND HE RELAYED THAT INFORMATION TO THE SALES MANAGER OR SHALL I SAY "NEGOTIATOR" AND HE THE SALES MANAGER TRIED AS WELL AS SUCCEEDED IN CONVINCING US THAT THE NOISE WE WERE HEARING WAS FROM THE CAR BEING POWER WASHED...WE TOLD HIM ABOUT 3 TIMES THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE FIXED OR SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THEM...WE TRUSTED THEM AND THEIR WORD AND WENT AHEAD AND PURCHASED THE CAR...BUT THE NOISE NEVER WENT AWAY AND 2 DAYS LATER THE REAR BRAKES AND WHEELS STARTED TO LOCK UP AND MADE US ALMOST SLIDE INTO THE BACK OF SOMEONE...WE HAVE BEEN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT 4 TIMES AND ASSURED EACH TIME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED...ONLY TO TAKE THE CAR TO AN OUTSIDE MECHANIC AND FIND OUT THAT NOTHING WAS FIXED OR REPLACED....THAT YOUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY "ADJUSTED" THE BRAKES AND WITH THE WAY THE BRAKES ARE NOW WE COULD POTENTIALLY HARM OURSELVES OR SOMEONE ELSE.....WE ADVISED YOUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF WHAT 2..NOT 1...OUTSIDE MECHANICS SAID AND WE BOUGHT THE CAR BACK AGAIN EARLIER THIS WEEK....WAS TOLD THEY WERE FIXED BUT YET THE SAME PROBLEM IS HAPPENING.....YOU GUYS ARE NOT STANDING BY YOUR LOGAN OF "IF IT AINT RIGHT YOU'LL GET IT RIGHT"...BECAUSE THE BRAKES ON THIS CAR AINT RIGHT AND ARE AN EXTREME HAZARD. I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS CAR PASSED INSPECTION ACCORDING TO MECHANIC WE HAD LOOK AT THE CAR....ANY REAL MECHANIC CAN SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS FROM FIRST GLANCE..ACCORDING TO THE SECOND MECHANIC....BUT I GUESS WHEN YOU DO YOUR OWN INSPECTIONS THAT WOULD EXPLAIN HOW A CAR WITH EXTREME BRAKE PROBLEMS AND BRAKE FLUID LEAKING WOULD PASS........I WOULD THINK THIS WAS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD THAT YOU SOLD THIS CAR TO US IN THIS CONDITION AND WILL NOT FIX IT PROPERLY....I TOLD THE SALES MANAGER THAT THIS CAR WAS FOR MY TEENAGE SON AND SAFETY WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME....HE ASSURED US THE CAR WAS GREAT AND THEY YOU GUYS DON'T EVEN SELL CARS IN BAD CONDITION...YOU JUST "JUNK" THEM. BUT I GUESS THE SAFETY OF A MINOR IS LITTLE TO NO CONCERN IF YOURS NOW THAT THE CAR IS OFF THE LOT AND SOLD........I SURELY HOPE NONE OF YOU HAVE TEENS THAT ARE GETTING READY TO DRIVE AND SOMEONE SELLS THEM A CAR THAT COULD POTENTIALLY KILL / HARM THEM OR SOMEONE ELSE WHILE THEY ARE DRIVING....I GUESS THE VALUE ON THE LIFE OF A LITTLE BLACK TEENAGER IS WORTH WHAT...ABOUT $5000...THE PRICE OF THE CAR.....WOW...... HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE LIVE WITH YOURSELVES KNOWING WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS CAR......I BET GOD AND MR. SINCLAIR ARE REALLY SMILING DOWN ON YOU RIGHT NOW......TRY NOT

Great experience

I just purchased a certified Pre-owned Buick Enclave from Dave Sinclair Buick in South County. It was a great experience. Everyone I dealt with treated me with respect, answered all my questions and there was no pressure at all. If you want a fair deal on a car or truck, give the Sinclair family of dealerships a visit. You won't be disappointed. Dave would be proud.
