The sales people are liars.
The sales people are liars. They'll get you to lease a car and tell you at the end You can buy it for 15000 but in reality when you go to buy your lease they Jack the price up and say oh we can't be held at any verbal commitment. Never again will I go there. Disgraceful

Quick and efficient
This is a follow-up to my previous review. It appears there was an administrative error or disconnect. The dealership manager reached out to me and was able to resolve the issue almost immediately. I've bought 5 Kia cars at this dealership before - their car servicing is excellent. My 6th car will be from this dealership as well.

2018 Kia Niro (hybrid)
2018 Kia Niro LX w/ 80k miles (listed for around $18,900): I'm not certain this car was ready for sale. I understand paying sticker price for essentially a flawless vehicle, and I know that there were options on this Niro. But whoever did the repair to the damage on the driver side door did a TERRIBLE job. Also, the metal plate on the inside of the drivers door that holds the tire into, etc - looks like someone took a drill to it. I probably should've gotten a Carfax report on this vehicle. On the driver side, the back bumper doesn’t line up with the wheel well in the quarter panel. Was told that's just 'how it is' (There’s literal space there. which means it’s either damaged or it wasn’t installed/replaced properly. That’s aside from the fact that half of the front wheel cover is all scuffed up. I mean, it’s plastic. We can’t spring for one of these when you’re asking for over $18,000 for a vehicle? I understand I'm being a bit hyperbolic, but still. Also, all the tires were under inflated, nothing in the pockets or storage areas of the trunk space were cleaned (at ALL). There’s just plain dirt on the passenger seat. Is overall a bit of a grimy mess. All of which was fine - they took care of it when I brought it back. BUT what I really didn't love was the sales manager bringing it up to the service guy right in front of me. Like "HEY - this guy right here says you did a TERRIBLE job" Thanks man. Also, there weren't any floor mats - they told me they never put floor mats in used cars (is that true? I never heard of that before but then again, I don't always trust my recollective abilities). The engine light had been on then off then back on again already, and the rear windshield wiper barely worked (the bottom half). But they took care of that when I asked them to. All of which is fine if you’re getting a deal on a car. It’s used - it’s fine to have some stuff. But for sales people to hem-and-haw about how they’re getting ripped off and how with my trade-in - which, with on any search on KBB will show that just about any Jetta TDI (even ones with 282K miles and rear bumper damage) is worth substantially more than just $100 that Alex suggested to me - they’re just losing money. It’s kind of aggravating. And I was also told that I was going to be thrilled with the interest rate that I was going to get (and thanks for the FOUR credit inquires you launched that night) because you have to compete with interest rates in 'this area' and then I get slapped with 7 1/2% plus a $3000 charge just for borrowing the money (I've already refinanced), and they gave me $1500 for the TDI trade-in. So with financing and warranty, I ending up taking home a car with 80,000 miles and some damage on it for over $20K That’s not a great deal to me. I mean, it's on me. I didn't have to take the deal. I like the car. I’m happy to take it off their hands. But I feel a little jerked around. Was it ready to be sold? Maybe I allowed myself to get pushed a little far with the "this is the best we can do - we're LOSING money on this deal" narrative. I mean, you know it sounds like garbage, but you're also hoping you might be getting a little lucky. But I'm an adult (allegedly). Maybe I'm just annoyed at myself for not standing my ground a little more. But if you're the kind of person who can be pushed a little bit, it might not be the best buying experience for you.

Dishonest dealer
Manager Alex is the worst. Play games to get me into the dealership with lies. Told me over the phone one price and price gauging the car up $8000 over what he told me. Will tell everyone I know to avoid this dishonest dealer.

Totally unprofessional!
Just horrible! I called ahead to schedule an appointment to test drive theEV6 and to explain I had a trade. They would not ballpark the value of my Tesla, but said they would if I brought it in The saleswoman was great but when I asked that the Tesla be appraised while I took out the EV6, and she relayed the request to her manager, he started yelling at her, loudly and publicly in the showroom. I intervened to find out what the problem was, and he lied and made all sorts of excuses but did not apologize other than to tell me he wasn’t talking to me! So I left. Poor saleswoman should not have to work with a man child bully!

Wow, the old car dealer stereotype is still alive and
Wow, the old car dealer stereotype is still alive and well!! Tried to sell me on a 'lease to own' at 0% financing. First, salesperson told me that it's 'illegal' to offer less than 5% financing unless it's a lease, though I've already seen 3 commercials today offering 2.9% for a sale, including from KIA!! Next, after making a 'gentlemans agreement' with the finance guy for $22,500 "out the door" with a set payment of $392, the numbers came back with me paying a total of $19,200 over 4 years with 0% financing, and then still having a 'residual' of $10,700 left to pay off at the end.! Go ahead, do the math--that would be paying almost $30,000 for a car that was promised for $22,500 TOTAL. Real 'gentleman' I was dealing with. Gateway Kia are a bunch of crooks, Especially the finance guy who actually acted Upset at ME for calling him out and stopping the deal. I absolutely suggest staying away!

Great experience
Had exactly what I was looking for. Explained everything in detail about the purchase and the vehicle. Felt no pressure to make the purchase from Gateway KIA

I’ve been reaching out to all the Kia dealerships within
I’ve been reaching out to all the Kia dealerships within 2 hours of me looking for a specific car. Kayla was awesome to deal with and a great help in confirming the car I’m looking for was on location! Then I was transferred to Alex for the sales process and the whole experience ended in a disappointing 30 seconds. He asked when I could come and I said I could be there the next day. Then when I asked about the price he quoted me 10K over MSRP. He said I should be getting a lot for my totaled car so he couldn’t give me a deal. Assumptions are always so helpful. I said I’m not looking to pay that much over MSRP and then he said good luck with that and hung up. Easily the rudest, cockiest, and most arrogant salesperson I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with thus far. Thanks, Alex! P.S. I reserved my K5 with a different dealership at MSRP.

Today I went in to the dealership to buy out my lease,
Today I went in to the dealership to buy out my lease, purchase the car outright. Price quoted was $4,000+ more than the residual, which was my only responsibility, plus taxes, tags, etc. Argued we had a legally binding agreement and they throw on these extra obligations, i.e. safety check for liability. They inspected my car in February....no need and I am not responsible. Buy out is "as is...where is", so that is xx. When I refused to pay what they requested, refused to further show me the paper with the numbers on it. I found through Kia finance there is a third party option, but that takes a couple of weeks. Bergey's in Lansdale has a better offer, but they are two months out with lease buy outs right now. In the end, I called consumer protection, went back to the dealership, spoke with the manager, who asked if I would be willing to pay $2,000 over....NO, I will pay what I am legally obligated to pay per my contract! He will consult with owner if they will do an exception (not an exception, I am under no obligation). If I am not able to do the buyout on Monday per the contract (and per consumer protection, I do not have to do any docs through the dealer, can go to any tags place for much less), I will start the formal complaint process. In recent weeks, despite having a lease due soon, I was refused test driving a car because I was not a guaranteed sale in the near future, I was made to come in for a buyout price that they can quote over the phone, they just wouldn't. Market addendum pricing is WAY over that of other dealerships, up to $10,000 added on price of the car. Loved my Kia, shady tactics. Will never go there again. Lost someone who would have been a loyal customer. Sad how many people may have fallen for their tactics.
