This dealership was very difficult to work with.

This dealership was very difficult to work with. They did not answer or return my calls. They did an oil change on my car without informing me and without me asking and proceeded to charge me. I bought my car from this dealership and they did not stand behind their warranty.

Didn't know what to expect, had a great experience

I am within 6 months of having to turn in my current lease. I leased my current Jeep where I lived in Ohio. My job relocated me to Michigan and I didn't have any idea where to go to talk about my options. I wasn't ready to lease yet, but needed information about what I needed to do when the time came to turn in my lease. I was expecting the high pressure sales pitch and instead, got a very laid back, understanding salesperson. The salesperson, Loren Glasscock, listened to me, understood that I wasn't buying at this time and said that when I was ready to come back in. In retrospect, I wasn't very cooperative and I think he picked that up when we began talking to each other. When he asked me for my identification, I told him that I wasn't at that point yet. I fully expected the conversation to go south but he said that he understood and would wait for me to get back with him. He told me that he was gone in February in case I wanted to come and see me but I said that I would wait until he returned. I have always been hesitant when buying a car because I don't like to be pressured but this was a totally different experience. I will be back to Champion, probably in March and lease my next car from them. To the Champion management, you are fortunate to have Loren as an employee. You are worth my 5 stars.

Never again!

Out $400. SO FAR & truck not running. Waiting for yet another tow truck. Truck towed in. Was not told it would cost $155. To tell me battery bad. Took truck elsewhere for new battery. 1 day later, truck wont start & they avoided question of returning $155 for mis diagnosis. They want me to tow it in again, just get it there & we will worry about tow bill later. NOT!!I I seriously doubt battery was even bad. 3 yrs/34k mi. (gets it out of warranty work though) Towing to a local mechanic that i can trust! Champion got the last 155. Theyll ever get from me. P.s. my old car needed battery & local mechan8c chaged 0.00 for diagnosis/235 battery...oh & car ran afterwards.

Terrible Service Department

I had my Jeep Grand Cherokee towed there to be inspected (it appeared to be the transmission). When I called to follow up, they LITERALLY had no clue that my vehicle was on their lot. The service person stated they had walked the lot and needed help locating my vehicle. They also never returned phone calls, and I had to call the main office to "summon" them. Meanwhile, due to their carelessness, I had to spend at least $700 in rental car fees. I will NEVER, EVER do business with them and will not purchase another Jeep either.

On 5/26/23 we drove an hour and half to purchase a used

On 5/26/23 we drove an hour and half to purchase a used vehicle from Champion. We had negotiated a price on a vehicle based on the information the dealer provided over the phone and by email. When we arrived at the dealership, we found several issues that were not brought to our attention by the dealer before we made the trip. The Kelly Blue book car dollar amount provided was also inflated, there was a towing package option included on the paperwork that was not on this vehicle. After spending more than 4 hours working with the dealer, we did purchase. The vehicle was missing mats that the dealer had agreed to provide and send to our home. It has been 20 days and we are still waiting on the Mats that our local dealer can get for us in a day. Champion follow-up communication has not been good, we have called several times and been put on hold, I’ve text and emailed the Salesperson Anthony and Manager Josh with poor response. We have been told the Mats had to be sent to the dealership instead of direct to our home and they will ship to us today 6/15/23. We also found that the spare key they provided was damaged/unusable and will cost just under $300 for a new one, the Manager Josh is not willing to replace it. We are not a Fan of Champion and would not recommend or purchase from them in the future.

My engine light was on, I took it to Champion and they put it on their machine for $150 bucks, told me the Active shutter system was shorted out and could be fixed for about $1100 bucks. I drove the truck for probably 2 years with the light on, took it to LaFontain for an oil change. Told the Service rep about the engine light and he said that diagnosis just sounded wrong. They checked it out and found a loose wire in the wire harness, All fixed for a fraction of price.

Poor Customer Service and Business Practices

I had been a long standing customer of over 15 years and purchased my first brand new vehicle from Champion in Lansing over 15 years ago. Throughout the years I have bought vehicles, had my vehicle serviced in both the body shop and service department. I have had issues with both areas and now most recent the sales area. But I kept my loyalty and continued to come to this place despite the things that have happened. I was in the market to upgrade my Jeep Grand Cherokee and this was my second visit to the dealership over the past few months and will be my last. I wanted a particular vehicle and this location did not have but the vehicle was at the Brighton location. I was immediately shut down saying they can’t transfer the vehicle, so I planned on visiting the Brighton location later that day until I was then told they could have it transferred (which I knew was possible). After running the numbers the add ons which raised the price thousands of dollars and an enormous down payment I declined the offer to purchase. I asked if there was any wiggle room to get me to the payment/amount I was looking at because the extras which included cleaning/detailing the vehicle etc added on was not anything I have seen before and I thought was ridiculous to push on to the buyer and I’ve never seen that before. for it to be thousands was baffling. The representative I worked with named Bailey Hartner didn’t seem to eager to work with me in helping me find my dream car and gave some bs about it being a great deal and left it at that. Never offered to lookout for a vehicle with everything I wanted and in my price range to keep in touch (anything to retain my business). Needless to say I found the exact vehicle elsewhere (days later) went through the same finance company The vehicle had less miles, cost less and I paid half of the down payment champion requested. Also those “extra costs” were not added onto the price either! I will mention that the vehicle I wanted to purchase through champion is still in their inventory and the price has dropped $2k in the last couple of weeks. Too bad you lost a sale and a long time customer because your poor customer service and rip off business practices!!!
