My Banister Nissan purchase was a great experience

I went to Banister because I had previous dealings with the Owner, Dan Banister, and found him to be a very personable, genuine, and honest person. I wasn't surprised that these traits were also evident in ALL of the Banister people I worked with when making my recent purchase. They listened to my requests, found solutions to fit my needs, and made the process very seamless. I'm extremely happy.

BUYERS BEWARE

BEWARE OF STIPULATIONS!! I don't usually write reviews, but I feel as though anyone thinking about getting a car from banister nissan should rethink their decision so that you don't get PLAYED . I bought my car from here about three years ago and was promised free oil changes car washes and state inspections for as Long as I had the car. It turns out that that is actually FALSE. I've been taking my car here since I bought it for service, but their policy changed for the worse.Today i drove from Hampton to get my oil changed, but I was told that in order to get an oil change I would have to address the recommendations that they put in the system for my car. I told them that I did the maintenance myself, but that was not good enough for them. They told me that all recommended maintenance had to be performed at their Nissan dealership.. I took my car in for a "FREE" oil change and ended up being charged about $200 in "Recommended" maintenance (that I had already completed myself). In a nutshell they wish to monopolize on the cost of Up keeping your vehicle. If I knew that this was going to be the way this company works, I would have taken my business elsewhere. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM HERE. Buy your Nissan from anywhere else but here

In a moment of dispair I'm losing a vehicle in total...

In a moment of dispair I'm losing a vehicle in total loss, I couldn't have picked a better dealership with the best salesman Jean Castel. He was able to help me make my choice easy. He was very helpful in accommodating me in taking my rental back and insuring that I was happy with my new purchase. I'm in love with my new truck purchased there today and I will recommend my salesman to anyone on the search for the vehicle to make them whole.

Horrible experience. I had to make to separate...

Horrible experience. I had to make to separate appointments for Va. state inspection. First appointment I had an 4 hour wait. Second appointment.. I was placed on hold for 28 minutes. My vehicle wasn't finish until 5 pm but my appointment was scheduled for 930 that morning.

No more trust

My car was service by only Bannister Nissan for the time if purchase at Nissan of Chesapeake. I drove from Newport News to Chesapeake for ,10 years. Always satisfied. However my last visit I was told I had Axel leak and transmission leak. The merchanic showed me the leak, dripping. However nothing in my driveway from either. Three certified merchanics checked my car found no leaks on either. I contacted recall center was told to get diastolic on transmission and they would cover it. At this point I don't think I'll returning to Bannister as I lost trust in there service department. Sorry no more trust 10 years of service and dedication gone .always gave excellent rating this is do disappointing.

"TOTAL RIP OFF"

"TOTAL RIP OFF" - #LOYALNISSANOWNER I have posted this review on Sunday 6/02/2019 and 5:17 pm the next day I received an email saying my language was prohibited by their policies. I hope the Content Moderation Team reads this again. I have removed everything you thought was a violation which I know it wasn’t….I was just telling the truth. Again I've been a loyal customer of this dealership since 2005, first as Green Gifford Nissan and then Charles Barker Nissan and I have received the greatest sales/service under both those name through many years. I did continue my service here when it became Nissan of Norfolk and have also purchase another vehicle there as well. I'm the owner of three Nissan model and there's a total of 7-8 in my family which have purchase at this location. My experience with the new BANISTER NISSAN service department I must say it's hard to describe since the name change. They are not truthful and will tell you stuff is wrong and cannot show proof of what’s was wrong, no diagnostic printout nothing, they avoid that question when you ask and just want you to take their word for it then in the end they ask for good survey. My suggestion is ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION AND YOU WILL SAVE BIG $$$$ I did by making a call to another dealer while I'm there. They try to sell me a part for $1100 through the service dept. that the other dealer is selling for under $500 so my quote went from almost $2000 parts and labor to saving of $800. It has become my worst Nissan Service experience they pray on people that don't know. Their service advisers don't know the product and they are train to up sell you on what you don't need. Their Service Manager is not truthful, he will look you in your face and do just that ........I guess that's what Banister is all about these days. I have since taken my business to HALL NISSAN about 10 miles from my home now verses to 2.5 miles from THIS place. They have also removed my email address that's been in their system for over 14 years so I don't get any survey and NISSAN Corporation will not find out what they did to me. Banister I will take my service elsewhere. I guess you will ask to have this remove this again….THE Truth

Adam Rawls Rocks!

My interaction with the service center are always very pleasant however Adam Rawls is consistently professional and efficient. He moves expeditiously and is extremely pleasant. One of the many kind people there but by far my fave!

Amazing customer service

I highly recommend Banister Nissan in Norfolk. When I say that their customer service with all their staff is so amazing. I came in with a couple things that needed to be fix on my SUV that a previous shop didn't complete. I was connected to Megan in the service department to help with scheduling me to come in to get my SUV look at. Words can't explain how helpful Megan was. She went above and beyond to help. Then I was connected to Chanel in the rental department who help with getting me a vehicle to fit my family needs while my car was getting repair. I spoke with Chanel previously before I brought my vehicle into get service I check to see if they had any vehicles to fit 7 passagers and at the time they didn't but Chanel stay in contact with me to let me know when they had a opening. Once a opening came available Chanel coordinated with Megan and I was able to have a rental while my car got repaired. When I say that the Norfolk team work together to get the job done they really do. I think God for Megan and Chanel for all their help with assisting me and my family.
