Added $5k in junk fees & would not sell without

My son and I attempted to purchase a car here from out of state—ready to fly in and drive the car back. The car in question had been advertised for at least weeks on the Web site, but when we inquired about purchasing it ASAP, we were told it was not drivable until some significant repair work was complete. After getting approved for financing, my son was ready to put down a deposit. The conrtract that the dealership sent over had the car priced above its list price online, and it also tacked on more than $5,000 of add-ons and junk fees: a $3,995 warranty, a $664 vehicle theft registration fee, and a $697 dealer service fee. We wanted none of the add-ons, yet the response from Mike at the dealership was "We do not sell our high performance vehicles without a warranty. If you are interested in the Golf R the vehicle will be sold with a warranty." In other words, the advertised price is attractive and seemingly slightly below market, except that they would not accept a full price offer and literally said they won't sell the car unless the sale is for 114% of its advertised price--the $29,345 plus the $3,995 warranty.

After searching all over for the exact car my son wanted,

After searching all over for the exact car my son wanted, we found Action Auto had the most selection and the best prices anywhere. The car we wanted had just come in and need a new windshield and one part replaced before it was ready. Andrew in their Orem location kept me completely up to date through the whole process on when it would be ready. After Andrew found out the Honda did not deliver parts on Saturday, he went on his lunch break and got it himself so the car would still be ready on time. Andrew was so quick to reply to all my text and went above and beyond to make it the best car buying experience.

Best. Dealership. Ever.

I will probably never buy a car from any other dealership in this state if it’s not Action Auto. As a woman I have had the worst of the worst buying experiences, even though I know and understand the car buying process like the back of my hand. Everyone at Action was kind, respectful, honest, and made it super easy to get into my new car despite the curveballs and negotiations I brought with me. They made me feel valued and did not treat me as though I had no idea what I was talking about. Best experience I’ve ever had at a dealership, hands down. Thank you so much!

Car buyers experience

I Was just very frustrated at how the communication of the financing was handled. Everything else was fine with the experience. All of the staff was helpful and respectful.

Absolutely recommend

I had a great experience with them - the customer service was great, they were able to answer all my questions without trying to evade or give non-answers, and the car I was presented with was in great condition and freshly washed. Overall, really good vibes and Steena and Andre were wonderful!

Just awesome!

Service is great. Everyone was really nice and knowledgeable. I haven’t bought a car in a while and am glad I found this place. Will go there again for my car needs in the future.

Transparent and No Pressure

Action Auto Lehi was very easy to work with. Their sales people give you the facts straight and I never felt pressured to buy or make a deal quick. They are eager to answer questions and are open and transparent about everything.

I would buy there again.

I called and put in an application to get a car I liked so I could get approved and come down and do the test drive and sign paperwork. That went exactly as planned. I got the car I wanted and was there for about 2 hours. It was very nice. The car salesmen was very nice and helpful with info about the car problems and what to expect very clear. (Cade in Orem) Thank you. The finance guy was amazing as well very good at his job and made the number work was very happy. Now the car salesmen went to was the car and saw that the car was idling weird so he had the Mechanic, look at it and found out that the alternator was going bad.they changed it on the spot which wow i didn't even know could of let me take it and left as my problem amazing. The downside, when I bring this stuff up it only to make this place better. And I would definitely buy here again. The car I bought was washed on the outside, the inside was I don't know 😕 rushed out. The windows mirrors all have a film on them the car didn't smell when I bought it (or it did but didn't notice was very excited) but now the next day smell bad of cigarette smoke 😳. I use oxi clean and water a carpet cleaner and a lot of Fabriz to get the smell out done. Then I took the cart to les schwab and found out that there is a the inner tire rod socket was loose and need replacement 😑. All the tire needed balancing and one of the rims is bent. I know buying a use car there are problems and I haven't brought up the problems with the dealership because how could they have known. So with that I still give them 5 stars I feel if they had known they would of fix the car properly. Ther customer service is amazing I haven't had to ask them for anything yet but I hoping if that time come they will be there for me.
