Terrible transaction!!

Was looking for a good vehicle and asked the salesman was anything wrong with the car and he said nothing. TURNED OUT TO BE $10,000 WORTH OF NOTHING!!!!!! Bad valve seals, $4500, radio wasn’t working, (audio amplifier $1200) wrong tires on vehicle, a/c not working, along with other xxxx! Even took an EXCESSIVE amount of time to receive a title! THIS DEALERSHIP IS GARBAGE!!!

2014 VW Golf TDI

I recently bought a VW Golf TDI from Zone Motors from classified ad on Ebay. Zone motors does a superb job of marketing their cars. They look brand new. I dealt with Ray who is the manager I believe. I had them ship it to me and Ray gave a good price on shipping. Buying a car unseen is a bit of a risk but overall I'm very happy with the car. It has low mileage and seems so far to be a very solid car. I got a very good buy on the car, so that tempers a bit of my constructive criticism. When I got the car, there were a couple of things that were relatively minor, however I believe that they should have been taken care of by the dealer. First of all I got a remote that although I can use, it wasn't programmed to lock and unlock doors. Secondly, there were a few paint chips that needed touch up, why wasn't that detailed by dealer? They didn't show up in the pictures. Those chips didn't happen in transit either because the delivery man reviewed all pictures he took before he loaded the car and they were in his pictures. Then there was a broken fog light on passenger side of car. Again it didn't show in pics. Also the windshield was scratched from something abrasive on the wiper at some point in time. These things should have been taken care of by dealer before sale. Overall, I like the car and got a good buy, but attention to detail and full disclosure would have been more professional.

Excellent Online Car Purchase Experience

I found the car I was looking for online at Zone Motors and dealt with the general manager Ray. He was very responsive to my questions and provide all documentation quickly. He assisted with my online car purchasing experience. He was accommodating to my selected auto appraiser who inspected the car and was very honest and up-front on the condition and state of the car. We reached a fair price and he assisted with completing the sale quickly. There was no pressure or issue with getting Ray on the phone or email requests. After the sale he was very responsive to questions and assistance with the shipping and paper work process. This was one of the best car buying experiences I have had in over 25 years and 5 vehicles.

Do not buy a car from this dealer

Started out as a fairly decent experience but deteriorated as soon as the car was delivered. I live in Austin, TX and bought the car after doing a virtual test drive. When the car was delivered, the passenger turn signal was broken as well as the end cap bumper. I called Ray the next day and he told me he would do the right thing and take care of it, but he was with a customer and he would call right back. He hasn't called back since. Upon inspection of the car over the next week there were several things wrong with the car. The most glaring was a broken brake switch that sends a signal from the brake to the brake lights for them to light up when braking. The brake lights don't work making the car a safety hazard for me and anyone driving behind me. I also cannot get the car inspected until that is fixed. During the test drive, I noticed the cruise control was not working and they told me it would be fixed before delivery - it was not fixed and does not work. I asked Ray to open and close all the windows during the test drive which he did, except for the driver window which was down the entire time. The FIRST time I opened it after delivery it would not go back up - turns out it was a broken motor and regulator. I texted all this to Ray (as he wouldn't answer my calls) and he has ghosted me since. I will be taking them to small claims court to get the cost of repairs - over a $1,000.

Be Very Careful

If I could give this Stealership negative stars I would. The absolute worst experience I have ever had buying a vehicle. Salesperson and manager say different things from each other. Will run your credit multiple times until they find one that suits them best and not what is best for you. (points) (look up what points are for the dealership)

Trail Blazer

This dealership does not practice good business ethics and sells vehicles to people that are not in excellent working condition. Salesman finds way for you to buy a vehicle from them even when you can't really afford it and they know it plus they make you buy GAP Addendum and don't tell you it is optional. Every person who bought a bad car from this dealership should get together and see if they will make things right for everyone and start treating customers with respect and truthfulness. STOP SELLING CARS THAT CAN'T BE DRIVEN LESS THAN 12 MONTHS of purchase.

Dealer response

Julia, This is Ray the General Manager with Zone Motors Chicago. Due to our records you never purchased a vehicle from us, if you can provide proof that you have reach out to me but I am ONE THOUSAND percent sure you never have. Multiple reviews in the past six months from you this needs to stop or we will file a report for harassment.

Run, don't walk away.

I purchased a 1999 Range Rover listed as dealer inspected with no known mechanical problems. The vehicle is completely and profoundly rusted, and proclaimed unsafe by my mechanic. The vehicle will not hold gas; the vent in the gas tank is plugged. The vehicle is throwing service codes and is in very poor condition. I have tried to reason with the dealership. They spoke to my mechanic and lied to me regarding the conversation. I sent extensive photos of the damage to the structure. The car's interior is poor; I was willing to overlook that. I have copies of emails from the seller, photos and my mechanic's report. The vehicle was misrepresented, and I feel they were negligent in selling something not road-worthy and unsafe. I have asked for a partial refund, I have offered solutions, and been polite and non-confrontational with the dealer. They insisted on a wire transfer of funds. They like to confront bad reviews by saying the customer isn't in their system; my invoice and photos of the car are on my Google review.
