Wonderful Experience with Norm

I purchased a 2019 RDX in November 2018 and I really enjoyed my experience with Norm, he was very patient because I had not completely made up my mind to make this purchase but he did not badger me in to making any sooner than planned. He was really good with follow up on anything I would ask of him and very pleasant all the time. I would certainly recommend him to others I know may be in the market for an Acura.

They do excellent work, but unsure if quality > high prices

The experience at Jay Wolfe service is really good and their work quality thus far has been excellent. I got a good deal on tires here, which was shocking, however, the remainder of their service offerings are super expensive compared to independent Asian import service centers. It's becoming difficult to say whether or not the quality of work here is so much higher than those other places to validate paying the much higher prices.

Very Pleasant Used Car Buying Experience

I went to purchase a used Acura that I saw online. The car was a little lower than priced online. I told them what I was looking for and they did not try to sell me up. I enjoyed the no haggle pricing on used, with only 1 small purchasing fee that I was told about upfront (most dealers have multiple additional fees); My sales guy, Norm was the ultimate professional, really easy going and did not pressure me at all. He was upfront, answered all of my questions and got me out of there with my car fast. Josh the Finance Manager got me a great deal that I was just blown away buy. He also did not haggle me into purchase warranties and packages that I did not want. He let me make my decision and understood my goals and I appreciate that. I also like the additional benefits I will get with purchasing a Certified Used Vehicle through Jay Wolfe, 10 free oil changes, free tire repair and replacement ect. I am looking forward to my relationship with Jay Wolfe Acura.

Questionable

I have been participating in the oil consumption test with my 2012 MDX. I have had to add oil between oil changes so I know something is amiss. The first time I reported the problem (when I was getting a regular oil change) the service tech reported that nothing was leaking so they recommended starting the oil consumption test. I declined at that time. A few weeks later, I received a letter from Acura saying that excess oil consumption was in fact a problem in some vehicles. I decided to proceed with the test which consists of three visits (every 1000 miles). At the initial visit, they changed the oil (it was due) and reported that it was 1.5 quarts low. The service tech also reported that my seals were leaking. I questioned that to the person who followed up with me the next day because just a few weeks earlier, nothing was leaking. She stated that she would talk to a manager and have them call me but I never heard from anyone. 1st official test - I went in 1,000 miles later and was told that it was 1.5 quarts low again. 2nd test - 1,000 miles later, it was not low at all. The final check-up, 1,000 miles later, it was not low at all either. I am skeptical that the test was done correctly. The numbers just did not seem to be consistent. At the beginning of the process, I was told that my timing belt needs to be replaced and that if my vehicle did not pass the test, they would do it for "$X.XX". They also told me that they would change the oil seals for "$X.XX" at the same time. I can't help but wonder if when they didn't think I would let them do these services, that affected the test. I certainly hope that is not the case but I have little trust in what they tell me is wrong with my vehicle.

Nice Dealership

Jay Wolfe Acura is a very nice dealership with friendly workers. I worked with Gretchen Jammiggeh and Jim Mattson, and they are both very communicative and patient.

New car buying experience

Overall, my new car buy of a 2019 RDX went OK. Not fantastic, but OK. I caution all prospective buyers that Jay Wolfe Acura charges $883 for accessories that can be purchased from the online store for $621. I understand there is a small about of labor to install the splash guards, but certainly not $262 worth. It should be optional whether to purchase these items, not mandatory. This was the second Acura I've purchased from Jay Wolfe, and my fourth Honda product overall. The previous car's transmission (a TL) went out at 95K miles, so I learned a lesson there on trading it in before the mileage gets that high.

Dealer response

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion. You are correct the installation of the Splashguards is not $262. The wheel locks also require installation which is part of that amount and we find it a best practice to "pre-install" the accessories. We do however have incoming units so if a client does not want any accessories a vehicle could be purchased that way too. I hope this helps to clarify the labor. We appreciate your business and look forward to providing you the best service possible!

Purchase new car

Jay Wolfe and Jimmy Carpenter made purchasing easy and were great to do business with. I got the car I wanted and couldn’t be happier.
