All of the features, none of the emissions

Great performance, great range, great features, roomy, comfortable, and fun. It feels like a crossover suv on the inside, but is only the size of a hatchback on the outside. Best of both worlds! Why keep buying gas? Plugging it in at home is easier, cheaper, and cleaner.

Love it!

We have put 3400 miles on in less than 2 months. This includes 2 trips across WA state, 1 for vacation (1100+ miles) and 1 for a memorial (650+ miles). You do have to research the locations of fast chargers. With a 200+ mile range at highway speeds we did 2 charging stops at 30-50 min each to cross the state without "range anxiety". After a few hrs we were ready for a stop anyway for stretching and/or eating. Super quick for passing vehicles as necessary, not unlike my sportbike. My only annoyance is fiddling with the driver's side window control to get it exactly where I want it. The faster you go the more it eats into the computed max range. 50-55mph is supposed to be optimal. A typical full charge gives you maybe an average 250 mi range with a computed low of 200+ and a computed high of 350 mi. It all depends on speed. Although as it gets colder the hvac system will use an as of yet undetermined amount of energy/driving range. As a performance car driver for decades I love this vehicle. Traded in my 2010 WRX plus $8000 off the price in order to afford it. So far the energy cost is about half the cost of gas but much less than that from the home charger. Future considerations: the effect of performance tires on mileage; snow driving; hvac use effect on mileage.

value for the money indeed!

Smooth ride, quiet, comfortable, lots of bells and whistles - and electric! Good size rebates sealed the deal. Plenty of charging stations in the area.

Do not buy an EV from GM!

Do not buy an EV from Chevrolet (or an other ICE automobile dealership). My 2017 Chevy Volt recently had an issue where it displayed a message "unable to charge" and as a result the car will not do anything. The battery is fully charged, but the car simply will not move. These things happen with mechanical and electrical devices and so no big deal, right? I pressed the Onstar button and they immediately arranged to have it towed to the Chevy dealer for repair. Here is where the problem became evident. All GM dealers are focused on fixing gasoline cars and they make healthy profits in doing so. It has been a week and not only is my car not fixed, the dealer openly admits that they still have no idea what is wrong with it, and mind you this not a small dealership in some farm town in middle America. It is a large dealership in a suburb about 30 minutes outside of Boston. They say they have only one person on staff who even can begin to work on the car given how "complex" the car is. They just keep telling me that the car is extremely "complex" and that I need to be patient and understand how "complex" it is. They must have used the word "complex" at least 20 times in response to every question I've asked of them over the last several days. Unlike Tesla whose service personnel are solely trained and focused on servicing electric cars, GM dealers not only are not trained or equipped to work on these cars, they also don't want to be. Electric cars need such little servicing, that they stand to lose a huge income stream if people choose EV over ICE and so they have zero motivation to try and transition to sell or service EVs. Personally I think the blend of EV and ICE provided in the Chevy Volt is a better solution than a fully electric vehicle like the Tesla, but I now know why it was a failure...the dealers wanted it to fail. I'm not suggesting that there was some grand conspiracy to make it fail, simply that if their is no motivation to make something new successful, then it is by default highly likely to fail. After this experience I've concluded that I would never buy an electric vehicle from a car dealer that has historically sold ICE vehicles. These companies and their business model which requires them to sell their cars through these legacy dealerships is going to result in their eventual downfall. It is just a matter of time before Tesla and/or other new pure electric car manufacturers bury them. They are dinosaurs that just don't know it yet.

Just a Great fun to drive vehicle!

We traded our 2017 Volt for a 2019 Bolt. Loved the Volt but the Bolt exceeds it in every way. As someone else mentioned why GM refuses to promote this car is a mystery. The rated miles of 238 in our experience is very underrated. Traveled to Crater lake yesterday a 152 mile round trip with a 2000ft elevation change and the gauge said I still had an average range of 149miles left. One pedal driving is also a wonderful way to drive. I very seldom touch the brake pedal. I now see why Motor Trend picked this car as the 2017 Car of the Year. We were seriously thinking of a Tesla model 3 but decided to give the Bolt a test drive before purchasing the Tesla. Tesla makes a nice car but with all of the rebates and dealer discounts along with a $3750 federal tax rebate ( until 09/30) , we decided the Tesla was not worth at least $10,000 more. Totally satisfied with this car. I have been driving for 55 years, and have had the good fortune to drive some very fine automobiles. The Bolt is the best all around vehicle I have ever owned.

Vest EV money can buy in 2019.

The car met all my needs. I have the LTE barebones no options model. I wish I had the upgraded sound system. But Android auto and apple carplay are a breeze to use and interact with. I can't live without Android auto. Fuel efficiency is amazing. Over 200 miles of all electric range saved me thousands of dollars in gas over the year. It's been fun till find you locations to drive to to find a plug. I can't wait to see more plug stations.

Great car--where's the advertising??

The Bolt is a great car. I have never seen any advertising but had read about it for a couple of years. The magazines liked it. It has the range we need. Incredible power, a mini tesla. I cannot understand why Chev is not advertising this as a performance vehicle, people driving it on curvy roads and blasting away at stop lights--or something. C'mon GM!

Great Car

Since I have had my Volt, I was wondering when they were going to come out with a fully electric car and when they did come out, I wanted one for my wife. We are older but we want to make sure and stay as green as possible and with the new Bolt, I am very happy and my wife is as well. We do a lot of reading about the vehicle, but that's what we do in our spare time. I like this car very much.

Cute and Perky

I did not expect this car to be as quick or as roomy as it is. I am pleased with the interior colors and solid feel. The technology is very impressive and with the added convenience package and both driver confidence packages I got 99% of the options I wanted for 3K less than the premier body style. Now I can drive without feeling like I'm a major contributor to greenhouse gases.
