Would be perfect with a better interior
I own a 67 SS350 so I was very excited when Chevy jumped in the retro game with the new camaro styling. For years I've been cringing at where the body styles have gone and how they've allowed a once great muscle car to fall of the throne. The exterior styling is incredible, Chevy has done a great job of capturing the original muscle in a modern vehicle. When looking in your side mirror you get a glimpse of that rear quarter muscle and it really reminds you of a 1st gen camaro, great! This car turns heads and can sit next to a car that is twice the price. The interior however leaves a lot to be desired, so much so that I am amazed that a car makes it to production with such obvious design flaws. The headlight switch is so buried from view that you literally have to pull over and bend down to see where you are setting it. That is typical of the layout - heat/radio controls are hard to reach. Door locks are buried between radio controls? They also have pushed it a bit too far with the window depth. They have squeezed the window heights so much that visibility is hampered fairly significantly. I had it out on a very windy road today and the visibility is limited enough to make you hesitate going into a hard turn. Backing up and changing lanes is also difficult due to limited window area. Performance is great for the price and class of car. Most people would never realistically push this car to its limits. Steering is tight and responsive, the suspension has a good balance of driveability while staying tight and gripping the road. There's plenty of power and a nice low end that makes it a joy to drive. Overall I'm very happy with what Chevy has done. They need to tweak the next generation interior and they'll have a real winner.

Hey all Im saying is dont be a sucker use your judgement & decide for yourself. Is the only freedom we really have, good luck...

decent muscle
I was always skeptical of reviews based on a manufacturers' badge, ie Ford, Dodge or Chevy and as a child of the late sixties, I grew up in the age of american muscle. As a baby boomer, I've been fortunate to accumulate several original cars from my past as well as the new versions of the iconic cars from years past. I own a mustang shelby gt500, a fisrt year challenger srt8 and a camaro 6spd. ss/rs package. Each is uniquely different and all have positive and negative qualities. They all provide wonderful performance and attention getting style. The camero, although not my favorite is by far the best overall value of the group - although that may be a function of economic conditions. I'm sure GM would have added "premium value" costs to the bottom line if they hadn't received govt. bailout dollars. I enjoy the camaro for what it is...a return to high horsepower performance in a modern convenience car. For all those who believe they are committed to a manufacturers logo, I suggest you test drive each one. The results may surprise you. Its not a 1969 dream machine, but these aren't the good ol days!

Fast and Awesome
I love this car! This car was purchased new in white and has the factory hood and rear deck lid striping! It looks mean and totally awesome. It is true what others say everywhere I go people stop look, say hello and compliment me on this machine! I can't say enough about it and I am a proud owner and I had always dreamed of getting this car and it is a miracle but now a reality thanks to some savvy investing in the stock market hehe!Lol. I love it and so does everyone else! What more can I say!

Best sports car I've owned
Wow! Got the 2SS. The car handles well, has all the speed you would want in a car you drive daily. Mileage is good for the HP. Don't like the climate contols and the view out the back is bad, but oh what a ride! People will follow you home.

dont be fooled by the negative reviews
I am a member of camaro5.com many of the people bashing this car are challenger owners, don't believe me go read their forums. At least mustang owner respect the car enough to not bash it for no reason. i have owned the 2010 2ss/rs for 1 and a 1/2 months now and i can honestly say I am using it more as a daily driving than my 2002 is 300. here are the reasons: 1: Show stopping looks. Even people working at my local Ferrari dealer in Dulles VA loved the car. 2: I play college football as a left guard and Im 6-4 330 pound and have plenty of head and leg room to spare. mind you i have the sunroof option, which decreases head room. 3: Trunk opening is small but the truck its self is as big as a Honda civics maybe even bigger. 4: Averaging 22.5 miles to the gallon mixed driving in the 6.2 liter L99 V8, and got up to 29.7 miles to the gallon on the highway proof camaro5.com visit the forums many members archived this number with ease. 5: Seats are well bolstered and comfortable. 6: No other car, for the same price, comes close to the standard features in the camaro. 7: Tilt and telescopic wheel. 8: Very poised when driving and feels very European. 9: Best of all the exhaust note. GM got it just right. CONS: 1: GM is still using cheap plastic, where are they getting this plastic from. 2: Steering is a little numb. However, a factory track pack should cure it for 2010-2011 3: Single cd slot have no idea how to install an aftermarket head unit because of the way the dash is designed. 4: ON Star navigation is irritating at first but you get used to it. 5: The auto transmission isn't an LS series engine(corvette engine) but is the L99, 26 less horse power, which has cylinder deactivation which shuts off 4 cylinders so the car can save fuel in low speed driving. (note: even with 26 less horsepower than the manual transmission the l99 has a quicker 0-60 and from there 26 ponies arent that big of a difference.

Had my cake & ate it too!
"WOW" It was worth it - I rented the 1LT for the weekend from Avis. Drove the car 500 miles & got 29 miles per gallon. Loves how it handles & it looks. It as easy to drive my Monte Carlo & just as fun as my corvette. The 2010 1LT Camaro will replace both the Monte Carlo & Corvette.

WOW
I have never owned a car that created such a reaction in people. I purchased the Rally Yellow Camaro and continue to be amazed at the way people react to it. Girls scream as I drive by, people ask me if they can take a picture of my car, even two year olds want to stop and see Bumble Bee. ( I had to rent the movie to find out what he was talking about) People even follow me into parking lots to ask me about it. But not only is it a great looking car, it drives like a dream. Very powerful (even though I have the V6) and responsive. The seats are comfortable, the sound system rocks. More room in the back seat would have been nice, but my 12 year old can sit back there. I really wasn't looking forward to replacing my former car because all the new cars seemed so boring. I've always liked Mustangs, but EVERYONE has one. I think this car is really special, but don't buy one because I like being the only one in the area that has one :)
