Pass on this one
06 Cobalt SuperCharged SS Ah! 205 horses under the hood from the 2.0 supercharged engine with outside styling to match. I absolute love the look and design of this car (cough) after I removed that hideous jacked up spoiler. The power seems smooth as you go through the gears and still has enough giddy up in 5th at freeway speeds to put a small grin on your face. The suspension when driving down the road seems rough, which this car has a sports tune suspension it?s supposed to be like that, the problem is that it doesn?t hold up when you need it the most, turning. The suspension seems very lose and with a lot of roll (top heavy). The interior is lacking. Hard plastic a lot of Hard plastic. The stereo and Recaro seats are the defiantly finer items in the car. Leg space seems reasonable for a coupe and a large boot space helps, but good luck fitting items through the deck led opening space. Overall: I know the used price tag on this car makes it hard to pass, but after my experience I wish I would have. After a year I?m already looking to trade this car in due to numerous maintenance problems.

Pretty Good!
I am just about to trade mine in for a new car. I bought it new in '06, and have driven it over 160,000 miles. I know very little about maintaining cars, and it is still running very well. The only things I have replaced are brakes (1 time after 100,000 miles), Struts (1 time after 100,000 miles) and quite a few tires. It has great pick up and runs like a champ. But, then there is the interior. Besides the fact that it's outdated (no usb/aux port), the details chipped off pretty badly on the door and stereo. Two of my speakers have blown (probably from super loud music) and the CD player broke after 158,000 miles (which is really the reason I am replacing it) The back is really, really cramped, so I would not recommend it for more than two or three people needing to ride in it.

I hate my car!
I bought my 2006 Red Chevy Cobalt in 2009 thinking it would be a good reliable car cheap to operate car. I am a college student and work almost full time and needed something relaible and cheap to drive. Both my parents have always driven American made cars and havnt exoperienced many problems with them, untill my car came along! Dont get me wrong there are thungs I like about this car and thing I hate! first the gas millage, for the size are it is I would expect it to get 30-35 miles to the gallon on the higway, wrong I get around 26 and I travle very lightly! Second a year after I bought the car I had to replace the transmission mind you the car was only 4 years old and had 69 thousand miles on it. I just replaced the break rotters again for the second time becuase of a shaking in the steering wheel, which still shakes! And not to mention I have had two flat tires since I bought the thing (although I realize a flat tire is not something the car manfucture can control) a few other things I hate, the back seat has NO leg room the LS model I own didnt come with a center arm rest console for the front seat! I know shocking! I bought this car becuase I liked the looks it claimed to have good gas milage and it seemed like it would be a worrie free car, WRONG! I wouldnt reccomend a chevy cobalt to anyone! Stick with the forign cars!...the next car i buy will be a Honda!

not too impressed
I bought this car 3 years ago. Since then I have been locked inside it at 50K miles. I was stuck in it at Walmart and had to kick the inside of the door while pulling on the handle to get it open. Yes it was under warranty but I didn't pay money for this hassle. The power door locks went hay wire again after this issue was fixed, due to this the outside door handle broke off trying to get the door open, but this wasn't under warranty even though it happend because of something that was. The windshield broke for no reason. There is no rock chip and I didn't have my heater or stereo up. The doors are too big making a 2 door even more of a hassle. The upholstrey does not stand up to stains at all even with a stain guard that I applied. I am also extremly dissappointed at how this car has depreciated so much in 3 years. I may get 1/3 out of what I paid for it. One good thing is the gas mileage.
