cobalt ss

I bought a 2009 cobalt ss and i am very happy the turbo engine is amazing enough power to let you have fun but its completely capable of just cruising around town and the fuel economy is with out comparison on a trip to the beach and a 4 hour drive through mixed driving i average of 34 mph the interior is a little plan looking but it has everything you need the trunk has plenty of room and the styling is very cool but very easy to live with

Cobalt SS Turbo

Really great car, you can't beat it for the money! Hanlding is is solid and feels like it's on rails in the twisties. Gas mileage is around 29-30 average mpg. Front seats are very comfortable and keep you snug during spirited driving. Shifting is great with the manual short throw shift knob. Steering feels good with little to no torque steer. With the GM stage one upgrade, the car feels even stronger. Driving this car would put a smile on any and everyone's face. You can't go wrong with buying a turbocharged Cobalt. Quit second guessing and just do it!

DRIVERS BEWARE!

Driving on I-10 on a clear morning, going at 70 mph, not sleepy, not distracted... the 2009 Chevy Cobalt I was driving started to swerve uncontrollably, then went off to the grassy embankment & rolled on its side at least twice. It finally landed on its passenger side against some small trees. The front wheel broke off along with its axle. The airbags did not deplore. Miraculously no one was seriously hurt! I was lucky, but no telling how the next accident of this sort will end up. GM is totally unresponsive & denies any responsibility. Something had to be wrong with the vehicle! There was just no other explanation. This is not about law suits. It is about consumer safety! BEWARE

09 Cobalt SS

Exceptional performance and handling in a small size. The dash and door panels are cheap plastic, but the seats are really nice recaro units. Pioneer stereo with sub is a nice touch, as is the sunroof. Dated design, but when you get past that, its a great mix of performance and gas mileage. Not to hard to get 32-34 mpg on the highway. Lots of aftermarket parts available for upgrades. Tuned by Corvette engineers, without the Corvette price.

SS Turbo Model Only

After over 61,000 miles with our Cobalt SS turbo, I can honestly say it has been my favorite car to date. Pros: Turbocharged engine with strong torque band Rigid chassis with excellent suspension 27-32 mpg with 29 mpg average fuel efficiency Comfortable interior featuring Recaro seats Excellent Brembo front brakes Communicative electronically assisted steering Perfect reliability record so far Real trunk with 60/40 folding rear seats Tasteful 18" alloy 10-spoke wheels 10,000 mile service interval PW, PDL, Moon roof, Pioneer stereo for cheap Amazing overall performance for the dollar Cons: No overhead light for rear seat Cheap plastic here and there in interior Engine adversely affected by extreme heat (limits boost after turned off/on on hot days) Expensive tires (sports car gripe) Expensive synthetic oil required Somewhat stiff ride (smooth for a sports car) Restrained exterior styling I purchased this car as a replacement for my wrecked 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR. The SS has proven to be a superior car in almost every way. Other than the lack of a light for the rear seat occupants and some of the cheap plastics that have broken off in the interior, there is nothing I would change about the stock car. A truly great drive. For those wanting more performance, I highly recommend getting better tires and an upgrade to the ECU as its direct injected engine and turbocharger are capable of a lot more power than the stock tune. If you can find one in good condition, I would highly recommend it. My girlfriend and I are considering purchasing another so we can each have our own. It's that good of a deal.

Cobalts tooooo smalllll

car doesnt handle well on roads when its raining or snowing. cant haul any type of bags as in groceries or shopping bags its to small, seats are uncomfortable, im only 5;3 and my head touches the roof...not good. if you have a child young enough who has to sit in the back...good luck! because that is a nightmare!! doesnt get the gas mileage you think it will so dont be fooled by that.

UNHAPPY cobalt OWNER

I own a 09 Cobalt and it has been the worst vehicle I've ever had. It's uncomfortable, no power, steering wheel to tight, rear spoiler is always in the way, you cant see out clearly. i dont like it and will be trading as soon as i can.

Good little car for a teenager

My daughter loves her little Chevy Cobalt, it's small but roomy inside enough for her and her friends. Very lucky to have found this 2009 car with 29,000 miles on it for a good price too! Visited many car dealerships and they wanted to sell me cars with 80,000 miles for about the same price and I was like "are you crazy or do you think I'm stupid" and I would just leave. Went to my banks repo lot and found this one, I was very happy and the payments come right out of my checking account.
